Since 1986 I have polished/waxed/paint cleaned my vehicles 1000+ times by hand. Sure the vehicles looked good but it still would have the small micro scratches from the factory/sitting on the dealer lot and to anyone saying their vehicles did not come with these blemishes would be fooling themselves. Anywho I finally picked up a PC machine and I have now been converted as after just one coat of AUTOglym polish I have erased 90%+ of the small blemishes. My black truck is the 5th vehicle in this colour (in a row) and it has a finish none of the last 4 have had. Of I go to work on the truck some more.:favorites13:

Yup, there was a big difference when I moved to a machine polisher and the only thing I do by hand is waxing the wheels. Hard to move back.

Porter Cable 7424x; it's the short block chev of the machine polishing world. I recently game mine to my brother to try out the Adam's Cyclo polisher, seems like a better unit overall so far but I'm only going to be able to try it for another month before it gets packed away for winter.

For minor paint correction without fear of any (user initiated) damage, the 7424 can't be beat.
I still wax by hand, but for the price, can't imagine using anything else.
*I bought mine directly from PC dealer after 1 trade show with full warranty, at a DEEP discount :naughty:
Plus, pads etc are universally available.

Stangely I bought a conical shaped device (forget the ****** name) that fits in the drill and I used it starting a week before the PC lol. The small cone fits into ever nook on my 14 Sport wheels and you should have seen how black it got, the rims are now much shinier than the 5x's I did it by hand.:favorites13:

Oh does anyone use the PC to apply wax or just uses it for polishing??????

Get a foam application pad and you can do wax as well with it.

I have applied wax both by hand and my machine. I have a PC and finishing pads so i will use them. I just did my a compound, polish and topped it with collonite with my PC on my 14 Outdoorsman.

I too use a PC 7424 for Paint correction on my dually and daily driver tacoma. Yea there are more expensive "better" polishers on the market, like a Rupe, Flex, Adams Cyclo, but im not a detail shop doing car after car after car that have been completely neglected paint wise and are in dire need of major paint correction. Im one guy with two trucks in a garage that keeps his trucks damn near perfect all the time (which im sure a BUNCH of people do on this forum). I MAY look into a Rupe or Flex if my PC ever gives out, eh but if it aint broke....:)
