Where would I look to see if the previous owner of my 05 ram with the hemi had put a after market chip in it?

If it's a chip then it'll be placed between the PCM and the cables attached to the PCM, however, if they used a programmer then the only way to tell would be to get the PCM flashed by a dealership.

Do you have a pic on what it may look like it one has been added?

No pics, but it would be very obvious as one factory PCM plug would have a module between it and the PCM, typically #3 plug IIRC.
