So it looks like the schematic posted all the doors are bused together for the courtesy lights and tap into the one on driver side kick panel.

*Where did you get the constant 12v from inside or outside the firewall and
*also the switched 12v with key. Did you go to the fuse box under the hood.

thanks

The red arrow is my constant power, the yellow is with the key..

Nicely Done! I highly recommend attaching the shock sensor itself to your steering column (use zip-ties).. It needs to be fastened down to something to work well and prevent false alarms. If it's not- temperature fluctuations will cause the wires to soften up and the unit to slip causing an alarm..

I had a so called "professional" installer tie one to a wiring harness many years ago and it false alarmed so bad it made me want to bash the f-n windshield out! Naturally it would happen at about 3 am when it was in the garage and I was dead asleep!

my connector in 2013 ram

DJ Mark and Cuda1 I was going to install the alarm sensor today but seems to be a problem with the pictures posted the picture that has the red and yellow arrow seem to be wrong. I put volt meter on and the yellow is constant and the red is switched 12 volts.

The violet wire which you say is a negative trigger I could not find a violet wire. I tried some of the wires as you say its a negative trigger.

I sat in truck with alarm on and touched the wire that looks like what you have attached to and did not trigger the lights or alarm.

So I stopped trying to install until I find the correct trigger door light wire.

Any help appreciated

Hey Everyone!

Are you aware that your factory ram alarm will only sound when the door is opened after it's been appropriately locked? You can literally smash out every window in it and the alarm will never sound unless the door is opened!

The factory alarm on my 2018 is integrated with SiriusXM Guardian so I get a notification on my phone if the alarm is triggered plus I really didn't want to go the full aftermarket route!

SOLUTION:

I purchased this little shock sensor add on from amazon (below), it comes with pretty easy instructions and essentially you wire it to 12v power, ground, a circuit that goes on/off with the key and then the door light activator circuit.

I strapped it onto the steering column under the dash and adjusted it so that I wouldn't get false alarms but if the truck took a decent hit it would trigger. Essentially the way it works is that when it's triggered it opens the interior light circuit making the factory alarm think the door has been opened- which triggers the horn & SiriusXM Guardian notification!

Super easy & CHEAP mod that works well!

Let me know if you have questions- happy to help!
2019 1500 Limited. Do you know of something that will work with the factory running boards? When I try and tie into the drivers door light switch it causes my running board to continue to cycle trying to retract. And no go on the hood pin switch either.
