Yeah I saw the dual temp controls on the screen after I had done the Dual Zone ATC.

I'll put it back to stock and run the process again. Thanks!
When you put it back to stock check and make sure this system functions properly and then try the procedure again and see what you get.

Ok so I brought it back to single zone MTC and everything worked perfectly. No issues with going from dash to defroster. Did the whole procedure again, saw the dual zone ATC temp bars, and then loaded the single zone ATC. Went back to the truck and it's doing the same exact thing again which is getting stuck in either defrost or dash vents. I talked to @Mpgrimm2 and his suggestion is to try the other body modules in Alfa with the same procedure. There's 2 MY2013 and a MY2013-2016. His other suggestion is to try another HVAC module.

So i guess try the other body modules in Alfa?

Hey guys I'm hoping maybe you can help me with this. I installed the single zone ATC from @Mpgrimm2 along with the cabin temp sensor. Using Alfaobd, activated the dual zone ATC, waited 10 mins, then single zone ATC, waited 10 mins. Now it shows the proper 1 temp slider with a temp setting but it won't go into defrost from dash vents or vice versa. If you turn it off and on sometimes it works. Also if you move the temp slider all the way hot to cold it starts working for awhile. I ran the actuator calibration test and it's looking for the second zone temp actuator which isn't there in my truck. It's also pulling an error for that as well. Its almost like it didn't fully take the single zone ATC from the Alfa. Any ideas? Bring it back to single zone MTC and try again?

My truck is a 2013 1500 Bighorn with factory RA3 and 7 position fan control. In Alfa there's 2 separate MY2013 Body Modules to select from so not sure if that makes a difference either...

Thanks for any help!

When you activated the dual zone ATC did you make sure that the code was actually the truck and you had the dual zone controls on the screen before you switch to the single zone ATC? I would Flash it back to stock make sure it's on the stock configuration and go through the steps once again and make absolutely certain that the dual zone ATC code is loaded in the truck before you install the single zone ATC.

I didn't use the Alfa to activate SingleZone ATC on my previous 13Ram1500 and I'm not sure what @oram2697 used on his 13Ram1500 (maybe he will see this).

A few possibilities:
- AlfaOBD may need to select the 13-16 Ram BCM option (vs 13 Ram BCM) to set it correctly
- Early fw version on your factory ram 8.4's xxxx5017AE module (new module or fw update by dealer?)
- Once you go through the process and select Single Zone ATC & it appears on the radio, let the truck sit for a few minutes, disconnect the battery terminals, wait a few minutes, touch the 2 leads together to discharge everything in the truck, and then reconnect to reset everything and see what happens. (you may also try a radio reset from dealer mode: Hold... Hot+Cold+Front defrost buttons for 5 seconds)

Rick also suggested trying it just in Dual Zone ATC (leave pass side alone) to see how it operates and possibly clear any DTC's after you select Single Zone ATC that may be left over from earlier settings.

@Hemi395 When you're saying it gets stuck, do you mean you're physically trying to press the defrost, floor, vent and it is not actuating to those positions or in the auto setting it is not going to those locations?

Sorry, speed reading and kids are driving me nuts. Lol

Correct, if you press the dash button while it's on defrost it stays in defrost or vice versa. This is all while not in Auto. Yet if you turn it off and then on it works as it should for a while.

Just finished putting my mirror harness. Humidity sensor and temp sensor all in and mine is good to go! All positions work during manual mode!

Then I would definitely try as suggested above by Rick and Mpgrimm. Only to add, I only connect to the MY'13-'17. Not sure if that really makes a difference or not.

So I cleared any HVAC codes, tried the MY2013-2017 body module and put the dual zone ATC on. At the suggestion of @Ricks Ram I tried the defroster/dash at that point and it did the same thing, got stuck on one or the other. So whatever is happening is starting at that stage.

Just a thought, what happens if you go directly to single zone ATC from single zone MTC?

You can try but it didn't seem to set right for me but then again there has been a couple updates to Alfa since then I think.

Edit: Once again though, when you go back to MTC make sure there are no codes before proceeding.

O just did an ATC conversion on a 17 this weekend with the alpha OBD and everything seemed to work fine on that truck after the install.

Man, I'm stumped.

I just upgraded the 5.0 Radio and manual climate control in my 2018 to an RA3 from a 2014 truck. It had previously been in a truck with dual climate zone. The bezel I ordered from infotainment is a single zone bezel (along with the climate module and cables, resistor, etc).

Now the radio fires up and works, but the climate control won't turn on. I feel like I've frankensteined this thing together. Any ideas? AlfaOBD won't let me connect to my climate control module.

Hard to say. Bad hvac module. Wrong hvac module. Verify the connections are seated properly and there is no bent or broken pins in the connectors.

I ordered the HVAC module for a 2018 (my truck) and the radio is for a 2014. That's why I'm wondering if they are incompatible. Still, I think I'd be able to get to it with AlfaOBD. It's brand new fresh out of the MOPAR box.

@Mpgrimm2 @DeereGuy Correct me if I’m wrong but shouldn’t he be using a 13-17 hvac module and not a 2018? 2018 Hvac I believe are for the UAQ/S radios not RA3/4

Refer to the below link for upgrade to RA3/4. There is a lot of good info in that thread

Here's the HVAC module list. Which one did you use?

* 14-18 ram 1500's have a variable displacement compressor (typ. associated with the 7 speed fan)
>> 14-17's = 68268186Ax HVAC module
>> 18's = 68366552AA HVAC module

* 13-18 ram 2500/3500's (& 13 Ram1500) have a fixed displacement compressor (typ. associated with the 4 speed fan)
>> 14-17's = 68105017Ax HVAC module
>> 18's = 68366553AA HVAC module

& it appears that you need to match the HVAC module to the 8.4 radio year.

M² Mods.

I had the same issue, no air in the defrost, blows air out the dash vents most of the time.

My solution is to set to MTC, wait for a while and very that the vents work properly..
Then set to Dual Zone ATC and leave it there.
ALL functions properly for me...

I did my conversion 2 1/2 years ago
Used HVAC Module: 68105017AE
Conversion harness purchased from the harness connection (not around any longer)

This is my seats all on high. The wheel is the one that takes the most power. The switches are powered by the same circuit as all the other interior blue lights. The 10 amp circuit is for power of the rear seats.
