I'm not sure the factory projectors can work that way. Iirc they are bi-funcional so they use a solenoid and a motor to bring down a "shade" that obstructs the light in such a manner that it turns low to high beam.
If that's true, using high beam as DRL would be the same as having your high beams on at all times.

Actually, that's half correct. :) It does do that on the low beam side, the actual projector, but there is also a separate high beam reflector based bulb in there. When you turn on your high beam, the reflector bulb goes on and the projector raises the shade out of the way of the low beam bulb allowing it's full light to be used. The High Beam DRL is supposed to run that separate reflector bulb on half power.

If you can recall how you did it, I'd love to know! All of the tinkering I and another user here (I'm afraid I've forgotten his name and I'm too lazy to go back through the 4500 posts to find it) did could not get them working. Of course, there is also the possibility that it was a bug and Alexey did fix it since the last time I tried, which was at least a few months ago. I'll have to give it another try.

I will. Again, I caveat by saying I'm not sure but I could have sworn it was running on the headlight bulb only when I first tinkered. I'll let you know.

I 100% agree with this. There is no "rule" saying they can't simply illuminate the high beam bulb in the projector headlight without activating the shutter. It wouldn't be the full "literal" high beam experience with DRL's -- just the high beam bulb at a lower wattage. On top of that, I could have sworn I saw this behavior in action. I just need to try to reproduce. ;)

The toyota cars use the halogen high beam on a pwm to limit that voltage like your saying. When the bulb is switched to LED a pwm module has to be added to replicate the DRL mode.

Sounds back words with this software but that could be an option to get it to work on the ram?

The other thing is if certain equipment like projectors for example override Alfa then you have to use mechanical equipment to beat it.

Funny you mention that. If you don't turn on bi-xenon with HID's you end up with this.

OK -- I was mistaken. I cannot make the high beam bulbs illuminate as DRL's with factory projector fixtures.

Procedure: First, I ROLLED BACK all the dedicated settings:

1) CBC I/O right dedicated DRL Lamp output present- YES --> NO
2) CBC I/O left dedicated DRL Lamp output present- YES --> NO
3) CBC features- DRL lamp location- DEDICATED --> High Beam
4) CBC Features LED dedicated DRL present- YES --> NO

High beams do not illuminate for me...

I could make FOGS, TURN SIGNALS (the "incorrect way" with brighter LED's) and LOW BEAMS come on as DRL's by toggling #3 above. But not HIGH BEAMS.

Interesting!

-Guzzler

FOOTNOTE:

After doing all this, I'm leaving it this way with turns signals on. I know it's slightly brighter and "incorrect" as it relates to the factory setting of using the dedicated DRL circuit and slightly dimmer turn signal illumination. But I have two sets of HID headlamp fixtures and these are my "mules" and I like slightly brighter LED turn signals as DRL's. :D If I burn one or both out, I'll do some surgery on them and buy some switchback LED's for fun. ;)

I have the projectors from the factory and I tried this alternate method. It it made no difference in the brightness level of the turn signal DRLs on my truck. Has anyone else tried and actually seen a difference using it?

Also, just a thought on the subject, Canadian trucks with projectors from the factory run the turn signals as DRLs as well (and are unable to turn them off, at least not without using something like Alpha) and I haven't seen any complaints of failures because of it.

Now, if someone could just figure out how to get the High Beams to work as DRLs on factory projectors, I'd happily switch to that.

-K

I'll have to double check mine now, as I have a Canadian truck ('11 2500) that I put the projector style headlights in with a harness and have set the turn signals as DRLs. I'll check it against my buddy's truck that came with projectors from factory to see if either is brighter.
I know before I made the change to make the turn signals DRLs they were not nearly as bright as trucks that came with them from factory.

I remember seeing at least one post about changing some settings with the fuel calibration. Has anyone else tried, had luck with it taking, did you notice any changes with fill-ups in relation to were the fuel gage is. I tried yesterday changing fuel capacity from 117 liters to 121 liters and my fuel guage went from just shy of a 1/4 tank to right on the white mark just before the red mark and my fuel light came on. Filled up today and it only took 23.6xx gallons. The lie-o-meter says Ave 10.2 with a DTE of 310 miles. I went in today and changed full from 91% to 98% and empty from 16%(I believe) to 5% and LFW from whatever it was to 2%. When I checked the logs it doesn't appear it took. Gave it about an hour checked the logs again and still was the same. Any thoughts or is this something that can't be fixed.

Ok guys I need help, I bought this and played a little with it. I installed a trailer brake and tow mirrors. I activated the blinker on the mirrors but not the puddle lights and any other tricks there are like illumination with headlights on.

I also need to know how to activate the trailer brake.

I looked through a few pages but there are so many.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Check out post #4134 and surroubding posts. May be in line with what you two are asking.

There is a kit out there to have the mirror signals on with park/headlights but no, Alfa cannot do that.

Trailer brake settings in "Known Working" linked from the first page and my signature.
Trailer Brake Controller:

Trailer select csm

Select “yes”

Trailer name csm

Select “yes”

Trailer type csm

Select “yes”

ITBM/HWM integrated trailer brake module

Select “enable”

That's the one I remember seeing. Highlighted in green is what changed. Tomorrow I'll go into cluster 2 and change those also.

I have a 55 gallon Titan tank in my 2016 3500. Been playing with settings the last couple of weeks. No luck with the DTE yet. Can manipulate the fuel gauge with different settings, but not the DTE yet.

I thought I had read where a couple people had but couldn’t figure it out. Could have misread however.

I’m hoping within 2-4 months.

Have you got it where the gauge is pretty good? Not showing “low fuel” with 10+ gallons as I have read what it does with the titan? Or showing full for 200+ miles then it starts to move? (If those are correct from reading)

Not yet. Last weekend was when the version dropped that was crashing every time I tried to change parameters. I haven't had the opportunity to try again once the new version came out Sunday night.

A couple of weeks ago, my fuel gauge was showing full - with about 250 miles since my last fill up. I change the fuel capacity to 208 liters under VehConfig 3 - fuel capacity. The fuel gauge dropped to just over a 1/2 a tank as soon as I changed the parameter. I filled up afterwards and the fuel gauge is showing about 2/3s full. I plan to play around with settings this weekend. I did change the Full fuel calibration from 91% to 98% but for some reason it wasn't changing to 98%. That was with the version that kept crashing. Hopefully I can find settings that work. I spent quite a bit of time trying to find definitions of what each of the fuel parameter actually controlled and what the specific allowable values are with no luck.
