As stated its most likely your clockspring or your steering wheel harness. It most likely has nothing to do with anything you did. I would reccomend checking all your wiring and pulling the steering wheel and checking the harness. If the harness looks ok there is a good chance it could be the clockspring.

Yes there's a possibility it is your clockspring because all of the electrical connections that come from a steering wheel go through the clockspring. Since none of your steering wheel controls seem to be working correctly it is most likely the steering wheel harness being damaged or not being connected properly to the clockspring or the clockspring is bad. You did say your steering wheel controls plus your audio controls are not working correct?

I would still think it's something in the wiring or the clockspring.

So I read thru most of the posts, and I still have a question: has anyone actually used AlfaOBD to add new FOBIKs to their truck? I read a bunch of posts talking about how the security on the truck works, but never read a post where a person said "yup, just did it". I just purchased a 2016 Rebel that only has one FOBIK/key, but I purchased two more "blanks" to add. AlfaOBD supposedly has the function to add keys, provided that you have the PIN (which I also don't have, but going to try and get a dealer to give it to me).

Most of the special packages splash screens did not work for me. I'll have to go back and mess around with setting one package over the other and see if I get anything different.

When you went through all the Special Packages settings, did you keep a list of the ones that worked? I was thinking that perhaps we can put together a list of the settings that work and what the image you get with them looks like. The only two I've been able to assemble from my own truck and this thread so far are:

@kad - 2014 1500 Express with a 7" EVIC from another 2014/Unknown Trim - Both set to No Package, image = 3D Ram Head Logo.

@DeereGuy - 2016 2500 Unknown Trim with a 7" EVIC from a Unknown Year/Trim - Both set to Longhorn, image = Longhorn Logo

The fog light drop disable makes it to where when you activate your high beams it doesn't automatically disable your fog lights so you can run your fogs with your high beams if you want. The dealer cannot change this setting because it's not allowed by Chrysler.

In the interest of full disclosure, the reason that Chrysler won't allow it is that in most US states (and I think all Canadian provinces) it is illegal to have more than 4 white lights active on the front of a vehicle at the same time. Since both the low and high beam bulbs are on when you turn on the high beams, the fogs turn off.

Note: I'm not trying to start a debate on where it's legal/not legal, why it's fair/unfair, whether I've got it disabled or not, etc. I'm just putting the info out in the interest of anyone who disables the dropout knowing what the the consequences may be. A picky or "low on tickets for the month" LEO can ticket you for it if they are so inclined.

Sure did light up the road nicely when I tried it on a particular dark, wooded, loooong loop exit road near me though! ;)

I did not keep or write up which ones actually worked other than Ram 1500, Big Horn, Long Horn, Lonestar, Limited and Off Road Truck (Rebel). When I have time to go out and check I will but it is really simple to change the packages.

I do know that no matter which one I selected in which special packages in any order could I get any of the SRT images to display on the EVIC. Short of going into the vehicle line and taking a chance on borking my BCM is the only thing I have not tried. Was experimenting for a while attempting to the the performance pages to display on the 8.4.

That's a good start! Do you recall if you selected the same setting in both places for each one? I ask because when I reviewed all the Shared BCM files on the shared drive last night there was one that had something like "Sport/SLT+/Laramie" set on the first setting, then just "Laramie" on the second. I think the truck was a Laramie when I looked up the VIN, so that's probably factory settings. I also recall seeing one that had nothing set on the first and "RAM 1500" on the second. I don't have any info on what images either of those displayed though. I pulled the Special Package settings info out of all of the shared BCMs, but I don't have the file handy right now, it's on my machine at home and I forgot to move it to Google Drive so I could access it from work.

I had tried a couple on my truck yesterday afternoon with no results but I'm not certain if I wasn't waiting long enough for them to take (I've not had to wait longer than the cluster power down time for any other setting to take), if I was trying invalid combos or if something else was going on. I did scare myself for a bit since the RAM logo wasn't showing either even after I reset it to No Package, but after sitting for a 1/2 hour it came back.

I remember when I started messing with this a while back, it seemed like they would not change or I would get a blank screen rather unless I selected the same out of both packages. But, you're saying you seen on someone's Laramie they had their special packages reading something different and more than likely from factory. Which is another reason why I want to go back an revisit this at some point.

Same thing happens to me whenever I select one that does not work. It will have a blank splash screen when finish booting up. When I set to one I have confirmed it works pretty quickly though. I don't think I have had to wait more than my usual time of the 5 min. off before trying. This could be the difference in years of either BCM or the EVIC if changed?

Does anyone know if the power folding mirrors can be set to automatically fold in when the ignition is turned off?

Also can you add the automatic seat parking function to make it easier to get in and out?

I have a 2018 2500 Ram Cummins Laramie

I dont think anyone has found a way to auto fold the mirrors.

To add automatic seat parking you need to have the memory seat/mirror module and probably some more wiring.

I have memory seats and mirrors, as well as the memory link to the keyfob. It sets my mirrors, seat and radio based on which keyfob unlocks the doors.

There is no option that we known of at this time to program the mirrors to automatically fold in the BCM when the truck is put in park no matter what trim level or wiring you have. It doesn't seem to be an option that was available in Chrysler vehicle so it's not in the BCM to enable.

Definitely in Chrysler vehicles, the 2017 Grand Cherokees fold in when you turn them off.

The high beams only come on with the headlights on, when you push forward. Pulling towards you they come on no matter what.

If you have memory then you already have the easy exit seat option just it's not turned on. In your radio it's under engine off options in the settings.
