Yes deactivating the fog light dropout is a very popular mod and alpha tool can do it with no problems.

Where would I look and what would the setting be for deactivating the fog light dropout. The bypass is temporarily out of my truck because I have a recall appointment to flash the SRS on Tuesday.

2013's are weird it seems - Every-time we have a head-scratcher it seems to be a 2013

It is a little different with my 2014. The aux switch CSM shows up in Alfa and I have it turned on but it does not show in either the EVIC or radio. I have done some searching and the aux switch programming in the EVIC/radio did not start until 2015. I can however go in to Alpa and find and change the settings for the switches in there.

it is in BCM and look for "fog light dropout" then disable that.

do you require a security bypass harness for all year Rams, have a 2015? do you find the alpha software better in pc vs tablet for navigating or not much difference?

You only need the security bypass for the 2018 trucks. I have the android version of the tool and like it. that seems to be what most prefer but I haven't tried the windows version personally.

The security bypass is only needed for 2018. You don’t need it for a 15.

IMO windows interface is better but i have both windows and android and I have experienced windows not being able to program fobs or do anything with the RF hub but android I didn’t have a problem programming keys or resetting the RF Hub. I would say buy both so you can use both lol.

I'm about 250 miles east of you... ;)
I know Alexy said the CSM file might not be there which I personally have not seen but if there is any way you guys were ever going to be close to each other it would definitely be interesting to see what his tool shows using the OBD Link MX plus his tablet. Might be the exact same thing but at least it could be ruled out for sure

Have you noticed any "hum" when enabling the high beam DRL location? When sitting still, turn them off and on. If you have do, it will be easily noticeable.

Let me go check...normally the radio is on at 18 or so, that might prevent me from hearing it! I was removing the APS iBoards today (nightmarish experience thanks to rust and chinese hardware!), so I just saw this. I'll go out and see if I'm hearing anything odd.

No noise at all with the DRLs in the high beam. My truck still has stock bulbs in the stock Quad headlamps too.

Might be the difference. I upgraded mine to projectors with retroshops harness.

The HIDs in my wife's Lexus make noise as well. Its considered normal for the technology.

When using the highs? My low beams (HIDs) don’t make any noise for DRL but using high beam DRL they have a loud hum.

Edit: I’m using DDM Tuning for lows and the converted 9011 for highs.

My high beams have hummed ever since I installed the Laramie headlights with the stock bulbs with the Retro Shops harness.

Interesting, I’m going to have to try without driving. Guess maybe mine always have had one as well but I just never noticed because of road noise, radio and so on.

I prefer my DRL’s on the signals anyway but thought it odd they had a hum to them when selected as DRL.

Edit: Nope, no hum when used at full power. Either with engine on or off. I’m assuming it’s because with DRL it’s reducing the power and causing it.

If you are using a relay harness the hum is relay chatter. It is caused by the PWM signal used for DRL. A very large electrolytic cap across the control side of the relay should solve the problem. 4000uf or bigger.
