I haven't dug in to the software yet, but is there any chance you can change the default volume when a text comes through the head unit when a phone is paired?

I think you can do that right in the radio, not positive, but I seem to remember seeing that.

How did you get this to work?

Using OBDLink MX and Android AlfaOBD, I clicked on 15-17 PowerNet. Then select Instrument Cluster in the drop down. Then in the lower drop down there are “idle hours” and “engine hours”. When you make the change, AlfaOBD tells you what it was originally. Note that “engine hours” is the same as “drive hours” so when you enter both the cluster will do the math for total hours.

EDIT- the engine hours are not drive hours. I just recheck my pics so I will need to make the adjustment to add idle and drive together .

If you have time to check, please do. I can’t seem to find where it is. The text notification audio is at 9, every key turn and man it is loud. Notorious for waking up my child....

What year is your truck? The new firmware version of the UAQ and UAS 2018 and 2019 radios is notorious for not being able to adjust. It is a software glitch within the radio. To actually adjust the voice volume you just turn it down on the knob while she is talking and it's supposed to default to that level. If it doesn't then it's a problem within the radio.

2019 classic with 8.4” screen no nav. I turn the volume down every time she talks and it doesn’t stay the next key turn. If it even stays to the next message.

This is a common issue with those radios and it's a software glitch. I know 2 other people that have the same truck with the same issue and it is very annoying. Best thing I can recommend is take it to the dealer and tell them the issue. they should be aware of it. I heard someone say they had a firmware update available but I'm not sure if that's accurate. If they don't at least you will have made note of it. There is actually a complete thread on this somewhere on the forum with a lot of very angry people. The latest forced firmware update caused a lot of problems including the voice volume control plus ruined the sound quality of the radios. Supposedly Chrysler has been working on a fix for several months because they have had do many complaints.

Just an FYI - anyone that is looking for tilt in reverse capable mirrors, mirrors from a Harvest Edition seem to work!

The Harvest Edition seems to be a Big Horn on steroids, but it comes with the chrome capped (presumably Laramie/Limited type) mirrors. Auto tilt in reverse is NOT an option on the Harvest edition, but I just installed a set on my Big Horn, activated the right features in Alfa and voila! I have auto tilt in reverse now.

Normally I wouldn't have pushed so much for this relatively innocuous option, but our trucks are so high off the ground and my front windows so tinted that I could really use the tilt down feature when I park.

Another FYI - if you happen to have a Harvest Edition, you should be able to get the auto-tilt in reverse to work just by changing the settings in AlfaOBD. The door modules controlling the mirrors are already capable of doing it, the stuff just isnt enabled because you cant get memory (seats, etc) in the truck. The door modules can do it, the mirrors can do it, just need to turn on the settings.

Yes Ghost-Ram, STecoD and few others have done this without the memory seats.

Yeah, but I dont think Harvest edition owners realized they dont need any additional hardware, just need to enable the settings.

Im surprised FCA didnt just add chrome caps to the standard mirrors and call it a day, but it looks like Harvest Edition gets the actual Limited/Laramie mirrors.

Also interesting is the drivers side mirror, when looked up by the Harvest Edition part number, is only like $175 brand new. But you get the actual Limited/Laramie part and it is FAR more expensive.

I really wish they made an all black tow mirror with that functionality. I would really like the tilt down function but hate the chrome mirrors (and the price of course).

infotainment sells them, there is a note on the product page saying they are on national FCA backorder so it looks like they are factory parts which means they SHOULD be available "out there" somewhere. Probably just really hard to find (even the chrome non-tow mirrors are hard to find)

I did find a few sets of the sport mirrors, they will have body color painted caps and potentially the memory features....but if you are looking for tow mirrors those are REALLY limited.

You could always get the chrome ones wrapped with a body color type wrap if you hate the chrome. I wouldnt try to paint the chrome, though, numerous people have said the paint wont stick forever no matter how good your prep is.

mtnrider.....I believe there are PAINTED black memory mirrors, but not the plain black plastic which I wanted to match my SLT trim. I wonder what the Harvest mirrors are? Painted? Plain black plastic?

To the best of my knowledge the Sports were not available with memory seats or memory mirrors so finding a set of those would be pretty tough. You would have to find a set off of a Laramie with the sport package which are pretty uncommon but they are out there. I was considering putting the white Sport mirrors on my truck and actually found several of them and none of them were memory capable. I could tell because they only had 4 wires in the white mirror connector. STecoD ended up finding me a brand new set of Laramie mirrors off a 2018 they are chrome capped but I think they look good on my truck. My truck is lifted So the tilt in reverse comes in pretty handy when I'm trying to get close to a curb. I don't think I would like them as much if my truck wasn't lifted though.

There were a few sets on Facebook in the last few months. While they didnt specifically say memory, I asked for pics of the wiring harnesses and it looked like they all had the required wire count to be memory capable. I personally think FCA uses a lot of the same mirror, but just doesnt enable memory mirrors on the trucks that dont also have memory seats.

I got a good deal on a set of basically brand new chrome ones. Was worried I wouldnt like the chrome, but on my mostly stock Big Horn I think they actually look really good (much better than the black textured). My truck isnt lifted but the tilt does come in very handy. And oddly enough it works better in our trucks than my wifes Lexus - only one of her mirrors will tilt but both of ours do.

Yeah I would have to get those paint matched to my truck. Don't think painted black would look good with my max steel color?
I just did some searching on google and it looks like all the 2500 Harvest tow mirrors are chrome just like the limited.
These mirrors are ridiculously expensive, hard to justify that cost just to get the tilt ...but I want it :)

I know the non-tow mirrors can be taken apart and the "caps" can be removed. Not sure about the tow mirrors, though. The problem seems to be getting the glass off and back on without breaking it.

I would look for a set regardless of color and then have a shop wrap them in whatever color you want vinyl.
