Ignorance runs ramped to dealers regarding this subject and your dealer is no different. There are some FCA vehicles that have a rolling PIN but our trucks aren't one of them. At least not yet.

I believe that there is a rolling pin given to locksmiths

This is not an option in your trucks BCM. It wasn't available until 2016.

Ok I did not know this was an option, I have a 2018 2500 tradesman that I did the 8.4 upgrade....how can I find / add the camera option while driving forward? It comes on perfectly in reverse. I have ALFAOBD so if it’s something that I need to turn on what are the steps? Thanks in advance for any information

It's listed in the Body Computer section right after the CSM menu in the radio settings. Not sure which 8.4 radio you have but since your truck is an 18 I'm assuming you upgraded to the UAS/ UAQ radio so it should be capable of showing the soft key (Trailer Cam) icon in your apps screen. It will take the radio several key cycles to read the BCM after you enable the code so give it some time. This is a pic of the code in the Alfa tool. ed71a7822763d671b381cced7c99ea12.jpg

Is it possible to reset the front parking sensors? I recently installed an aftermarket bumper my sensors are acting up. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I just added the 2018 UAQ to my 2015 and used Alpha to turn on the cargo cam which I am using as the front camera and it works great. Once you do that you can use the on screen buttons once the camera is activated to toggle between the front and rear cameras. Until I turned on the cargo cam these buttons did not show on the screen. Which makes sense since there was only one camera the computer new about before. When in motion I can turn on the front camera at any time and it will stay on for 10 seconds (per the manual) before auto turn off which is what the cargo cam is programmed for and it can't be changed.

Only Gen 5's now come with a front camera (and other ones as well) therefore for us 4th Gen guys I HIGHLY recommend anyone that does not need/want the cargo camera to use it as a front camera instead. It makes parking much easier in my opinion and is just fun to view when driving for a few seconds. When stopped (but still in drive) you can toggle between the front AND rear cameras which is kind of nice if you think someone is getting to close to you from behind. This one: www.amazon.com/Crimestopper-CAM-400-Camera/dp/B078PLLN7F/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1? is the one I got and it's very nice since it has 4 different mounts one of which is perfect for Rebel style grilles like the one I added.

Nice tip AmorshC.
After making that video I got a tip from @Cornelius which inspired me to make this video. where you don't even have to mess with the grill to gain access to the lights.

AS fun as i bet that is....im sticking with my body tab puller and a screw gun....i started looking for my 3/8ths extensions, found 1x3' locking 1x3' standard then thought " the light would be out and i have room to manuever it" but when im upset (which will happen, ill definitely take this route lol thx

[emoji848] I like it! Buuutttt think I may still add this camera to the back. I am getting close to adding a camper shell so that when we go on trips the dogs will have a little more space and leave me alone haha....but if I do the third brake light camera it will be useless....but I can add this camera to the camper and be able to check on the 4 legged kids! Man I love this forum...I have learned so much and saved a ton of money!

Yes in your case the "Cargo Cam" would be the "Camper Cam"! If you get a lockpick device then you can add as many cameras as you want to the 4th gen I should have mentioned that in my original post.

I do not recommend the LockPick. Not well made in my opinion and prone to failure...I had two fail in as many years and they made me pay $50 to replace my first one within the warranty period.

Good to know! Thanks for the report. Quality was my concern as well with these devices but thought I should mention it.

The camper won’t block the third brake light camera? And I’m not 100% sure how the second camera plugs up the the dash....are there multiple inputs for stuff? I’m about 98% sure that my radio came out of a 2016 3500. I would rather have the third brake light camera so that if I ever take the camper off I will still have it there.

Okay is that is the case you can get the third brake cargo cam kit here. It will integrate into your radio. https://www.infotainment.com/products/ram-factory-chmsl-third-brake-led-light-cargo-camera-kit

You can also buy the harness from Kaod Tech. (Deer Guy) and purchase the factory cargo cam third brake light separately and enable the codes with the Alfa tool. His harness connects into the back of the radio connector exactly like the factory. I used his harness. It fits perfect and it works great. I think he charges $185 for the harness and you can find the OEM CMSL for around $300 so might be a cheaper option with less clutter than the Infotainment setup that adds the extra harness between the radio and the truck. This is a pic of how his harness connects into the back of the radio connector in the factory location. Since your radio is out of a 2016 it won't try to divert your backup camera to the rear view mirror when you enable the cargo cam like the 13 to 15 radios do so you shouldn't have any issues. My radio is also out of a 16.

You can try and connect to the park assist module with alpha and do a wiring test command
Hopefully that might help

I would go with Rick's suggestion. Not only is it cheaper but Infotainment is the same company (under an older name oemautopartsco.com) that charged me $50 to replace a LockPick under warranty. A few months after purchase.

They called it a "warranty fee"...

Many (if not all) of their offerings for our trucks are available here on the forum at a significantly lower price (and better quality IMO).

@DeereGuy and @Mpgrimm2 make quality products at great prices. Yes they have biased me by excellent feedback given to folks all over this forum much like many of the responders in this thread...

I like that option better....$800 is it in the budget right now lol. Plus can anyone confirm that it will work when I put the truck camper shell on it? I’ve read in a few spots that the camera sticks out too far and won’t allow the camper shell to sit where it needs too.....also I still think the camera will be blocked so I won’t be able to see inside the bed.....basically I want to be able to check on my dogs on trips from time to time to make sure they are ok.

If all you want to do is add a camera, you can run the cables and mount a flush mount rearview camera really anywhere. Mine is in the third brake light. Then buy one of @Mpgrimm2 's front/cargo camera harnesses for $20 shipped. You should be able to do it all for $40...$50 if you add another camera and switch them manually when needed.
