Alpine system removal

I have a 2012 430N Alpine. At one time was looking at swapping the amp to the Kicker (77kick45) but never got any good feedback. Finally figured if it was worth a damn then there would be people all over the forums praising it. So now I am thinking about just taking it all out and start from scratch. So can I remove or bypass amp, replace head unit, and connect to an aftermarket amp? If so, how? What harness? Will I lose back up sensors, EVIC, or anything else?

best thing to do is buy a dsp like RF 360.3 or similar. it allows you to keep your oem HU and add aftermarket amps.

. I have searched the forums so I know most people will say go with MS8, 360.3, or whatever. And Graygoose will push the kicker products. Not what I want to do. I already have a head unit from my previous truck sitting in my garage. I like it and it works exactly like I want. I don't spend all my time in the truck so I am not going to throw a lot of money into it.
So... Can it be done?

After market hu yes you need to buy a harness from pac. some have said that it works others disagree. i have not tried it but i have seen a few people that have.

Personally either way hu or DSP I would gut it and start with something a little more adjustable but that's me. To me its all about being able to tune it and you can't do that with that particular system at all.

I was reading the link below so I know that it can be made to work, but what do I lose as far as factory features> Backup sensors, evic, keyless entry, etc... There is no mention of that and according to the user profile he has not been on the forum in over a year to ask directly. Are the amp and head unit critical in the system?

I want to gut it. Head unit, amp, ucconnect, everything. But at what expense to the vehicle wiring or CANBUS?

on a '12 the radio is still separate from the evic. its not until '13 that its more integrated.

pull your head unit, put an amp in, wire from the amp to the speakers and call it a day.
