If you mount a board with silicone it's not going anywhere if done right. There are also a couple of spots to put a screw or rivnut that don't penetrate to the outside. Have you ever even seen behind the seat of one of these things? Seems like youd know that.
3M VHB tape is another viable way to mount something back there.
The entire sides of most RV trailers and motor homes are held on with VHB tape. Pure silicone is used to glue many very heavy things to a substrate in the industrial world...not sure why you say it's no good? Inexperience I guess but it's actually a very viable option.

Lol, your feelings must be hurt....I apparently tugged on your heart string, I'll end this with it's your vehicle, you can do what ever you like. Burn it spray paint it. I don't care......I'll keep my methods they are recommended by the highest of certified professionals and they work pretty well, I won't go as low as try to personally offend you with saying your inexperienced hahaha I don't need to prove myself I'll let my knowledge, Certifications and Installation experience and methods do that for me:roflsquared:
When I get he chance I'll mount something back there to make ya feel better

Whatever makes ya happy my friend. I'm good friends with several consistent top 100 installers and my own install was done by one of them using gear most people will never even see. I also compete at a pretty high level in SQ on a team backed by ORCA Design....I know my way around.
I don't need an MECP paper hanging on my wall...if the kids at Best Buy can get them I'd say anyone can. lol

Bkhsvt, it sounds like you're just too good for us all... I'll keep mounting my amps like I always have. Hopefully my truck doesn't completely rust away from a couple of screw holes...

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

I realize my last sentence sounded like an insult. It wasn't meant that way...I'm just saying don't lean on an MECP test. A few of the best installers in the world that I know personally aren't MECP "certified"....but they do 5 figure installs in 6 figure cars by appointment only and are booked a year in advance. These are some of the most high end, perfectly executed installs you'll ever lay eyes on.
MECP "certification" means nothing outside of the basic installer realm.

Even unbroken will agree with me that he wouldnt shoot a screw through the cab a cab or anyone's cab.......that's crazy right? All I'm saying is what ever is being installed can be put behind a seat. Under a seat, whatever, it's just gotta be done right. Who can argue with that.

Mines under the driver seat. And a sub between the console AMD back seat, my sub requited too much space, so under the seats was a no-go.
