Good evening fellow ram guys (and the few gals)

I just bought a foxbox 2-12" vented subs for my alpine speakers. My question to all is the location of the amplifier.

I just want to know what's the best place to put my amp so not only does it have a place to breathe, but easy access to wiring. Pictures of it in either behind the back seats, under the seats or other locations would be great. I just want to get ideas on where to put it.

Mine will also be mounted under the driver seat. There is a plethora of room there.

(Yes, I just wanted to say plethora)

I wish i could put it under the driver seat but i have power seat so i dont have room. Im just curious how it would fit behind the quadcab rear seats.

Cmiller that looks great. You didnt half ass that at all. I wish i had the time to take it all apart like that. Kids always keep me busy.

Thanks! My seat is power as well there is really alot room under it. It all looks like a mess in those pics but I had a lot of wires to run. I even made a wire harness that plugs into the factory harness so there are no spliced joints, if I ever want to take it out all I have to do is unplug it. The white wires you see in the pics are actually home audio wires that house 4 wires inside it worked great for the install to keep it all nice and neat. Here is the box I built for it.

I have one under the driver's seat and one under the rear seat, between the box and the cab wall.

I have two amps, and a Bitone behind/under the rear seats. Essentially where the seatbelt mounts/anchors are . The amps are somewhat visible with the rear seat folded up, but out of site when down. I'll take a picture tomorrow if you would like to see.

Cheers

Back wall, rectangle with 2 square cut-outs for vents, 3/4" mdf, routered, painted, screwed to wall, amps screwed to board, done. Make amp adjustments before rear seats go back in lol
Arc amp has internal cooling, but the 2 Alpines never ran hot and were drivin HARD
Mine looks a bit different now cause the 2 Alpines are gone but you get the idea.
Plus it would be a pain in the butt to steal!

nice setup autokraftgt. I have the same amp. It's tight quarters i the truck, but i want to be able to access it. I only have one amp...so i'm thinking under the driver seat. But i won't have alot of room to wire. I would really hate to remove my driver seat.

I put an Alpine four channel under my driver seat without removing the seat. Mine looks about the same size as the ones pictured here. There was a place already cut in the carpet that I used to run the wires up through.

ok that might make the job easier....i have a aftermarket head unit, so im thinking that i run the rca cables thru the center console and under the driver seat.

Yeah, right under the edge of the center console would probably be easier. I don't have a center console so I ran mine over the steering column and down the side of the cab. But I was running new speaker wire to all the doors anyway, so I was going to have the door sills up regardless. All in all, it was an easier job than I expected. I still want to run my iPod cable under the center carpet and come up into the folding console, I just don't think the one I have is quite long enough.
