I'm not going to make this a long drawn out post, I just wanted to say how far superior the custom tune is compared to the crap that diablosport had. The canned tune still shifted at the stock shift points, still sometimes shifted early like stock, 1-2 and 2-3 was still terrible etc.
On the flip side, the first revision Jay sent me hit the nail on the head. All of the annoying shifting quirks that afflict the stock 8 speed at WOT are gone now. It never shifts at 5200rpm, it doesn't hit the rev limiter, and most importantly, it shifts FAST and HARD! On the stock tune it almost felt like I was losing ground on the first couple of shifts. Now It lights the tires up going to second, and on a few occasions it ever chirped the tires going into THIRD GEAR! Man it sure is nice to hear the motor spin up to 6000+. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that the truck could go mid-high 13's even in a +2500 DA. Only mods are the tune, vararam and a muffler delete.
I got next to an ecoboost today and launched it in 4WD and let off at about 60. He gets next to me at the following light and gives me the thumbs up, said it sounds great and wanted to know what was done to it LOL!
All I have to say is this; If you have an 8 speed hemi and you don't have a custom engine and trans tune, you're doing yourself a massive disservice! This is bar none the best 700$ (including new ecu) I have ever spent on a vehicle, EVER!
