Wow wish I would have replaced those front swaybar end links along time ago. :emotions122:

The best $100-$150 ish endlinks you can get

If you've been on the fence about them I 100% recommend them. They tie my front end perfectly. At 97000 miles the suspension drives like a brand new truck. :favorites37:

I know someone will ask which part# I went with and I'm positive I'll forget so here you go.

Keep in mind smx-1229L is for slightly lifted 2wd.

4wd requires smx-1300L.

Correct. My Ram is RWD Maxtrac 7" lift. Sized em up next to my Uncles 7" Pro-Comp lifted Tundra. His is 4x4. Looking at ditching his spacers and install a full length coilover. I also need to go through his suspension and fix all the bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints etc. They are fun though aren't they.

Don't know if it'll matter but this is the 2nd set i've seen that's facing a different way from their instructions (according to the labels they come with).
The label says "this side facing outwards" so they should look like this.

Also with these bushings you don't want to have them squished up like the stockers. These things need to be a little on the loose side. the instructions are spot on, it takes if i remember 8-10 open threads on the bolts.

Here is a video that shows the orientation and the label i'm talking about. Again i don't know if it makes any difference or not but better be safe than sorry.

Appreciate the feedback.

Depending on which orientation of truck you have depends on how they install I guess.

I'll take a better photo of the instructions for you front and back so we can see the difference.

I assure you I installed them per the instructions

If you can read the top photo direction 3 states the orientation of the lower portion of the link.

3. Insert MaxxLink through lower control arm with the open end side facing outwards toward the wheel and hub assembly. ( Did I interpret this incorrectly?)

Good looking out though. I've definitely installed a few parts backwards in my time learning the trade of offroading.

Found it!

So these suckers do install differently depending on which LCA you have. Since the attachment points are different from the RWD to 4x4. SuspensionMaxx allows you to download their install guides in pdf format incase you lose them.

This is Part# 1229L for RWD

Just one of them, however the Pro’s out weigh the cons here! Plus they look better and can actually take heading a cat head on without being written off no problem!

Appears there are two sets of instructions for the 1300L. I just installed mine this weekend and they have the opening on the sides, not front to back as the instructions posted show. I went out and looked at them again after viewing this thread and I must have a different version or something because it would appear its the only way mine could be installed. I'm going to have to call them this morning. I'll get some pics up when I get a chance as well.

Same here. I installed mine yesterday. Doesn’t seem like mine would go any other way. 25EBA3B8-9A8A-4CAF-9787-531873596B67.jpeg

Yup - just spoke with S-maxx and it's been confirmed. New design. New instructions. Was told to install per the instructions received in the kit and to disregard the online instructions. And yeah, I think after trying any other way you could be pretty sure they go only one way but now it's confirmed!
