Alright so I have had duratracs for a while now. I had factory size on 275s . I lifted the nose two inches with bilsteins this week and need new tires.

I live in New York so I do get snow and I am in pa a lot with snow.

the duratracs were great. But I feel they wore alittle quick.

I am looking to step it up to like a 295/60/20 now I think.

what tires do you recommend. I like an aggressive look but good snow performance. Duratracs again? Nitto g2s?

Duratracs in my opinion are overrated. I hated mine in mud and on ice they were sketchy. I had toyo open country at2 extremes and liked them the first season. They were grippy and mean. Wear was good. After the first winter I started gravel driving. Like 100+miles of gravel a day, they took that very well but by next winter they sucked in the snow. I ran them anyways and still did better than most people. I put 50,000 miles on these tires before change over. I went to a much more aggressive tire with larger lugs to hold up to the gravel better. If it was doing mostly highway and occasional gravel I'd have used these again. d848ac0a3958ea6a17ce06c0bac906a6.jpg1d1e781d98c408d213cf3d8f7a574775.jpg

What type of tire are you looking for? An AT, being you had Duratracs? But then you mentioned Ridge Grapplers which are an XT.

Can't speak to longevity, but my Cooper AT3 4S preformed flawlessly on 2 inches of compact sleet and again later on approximately 7 inches of heavy wet snow on stop of the ice. Also great in the rain and dry pavement. Can't speak to off road. About 900.00 out the door for all 4 at a local tire dealer.

The Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain is a milder version of the Duratracs and I think it had the snowflake rating. I have them and love the look with better on road manners.

Although they are only available at Discount Tire.

I had these on two Toyota’s and they wore fast. Too Expensive to wear so fast.

They still sell the ATZ's but call them ATZP3's now. Considered a Hybrid tire. I have a set of 35's and they are very respectable tires.

For the OP - I lived in Alaska for 25 years and drove 4x4 truck's the entire time. I certainly haven't tried all the tires out there, but of the ones I did, the absolute best tire I found for snow/ice/rain/dry/highway was the Nitto Terra Grappler. My last truck had a new set of tires on it when I bought it. They were Toyo M/T's and they were very nearly as good, just more expensive and noisier.

I live in Wa state now and have only seen light snow and black ice a couple times, but the Mickey Thompson ATZP3's handled it well. They are 45k tires and after a few thousand miles still look new.

I would just stay away from cheap imports. Some folks have had luck with them, but my experience was 2 of 4 tires being out of round and I think I lost a couple fillings from the jarring bounce above 40mph.....

I'm running Mastercraft courser AXT's. Got a storm the other day and had to drive on 2in of ice followed by 18in of snow. Didn't have any problems. They also are very good off road as long as it's not extreme off road.
