Glad to hear. Good luck. I'll take one once they become available.

What's sort of price are we looking at?......approximately?

Right in the $18-$19 range. Really it is depending on the material price as I am hoping for a premium material...as opposed to some cheap ABS piece. We shall see if I can get a material like Sarlink to be hard enough to hold the shape of the Phone Holder.

Have you tried a Kickstarter? I am sure a lot of us would like to help fund someone trying to help the community, and do you know what your expecting as far as MSRP?

Adrianp89,

To be honest...there was (still is) so much going on that I didn't want to tackle learning a Kickstarter campaign. Fortunately, I have a little money set aside for a project like this (although my wife isn't too happy as she wanted to take the family to Disneyland). Hopefully it will all work out for everyone.

The price on it will be somewhere in the $18-$19 range depending on the material cost for the product. Even at this price...I am going to have to sell a whole heck of a lot of them to break even, but I want to make sure the hard working people that own Dodge/Ram trucks can buy the Phone Holder at a reasonable price.

Thank you for writing!

Well at $20 a pop, I don't see it being "too hard" to break even in the first year. 1,000 units or so before you break even? Sell it through multiple places and I don't think 1,000 units would be hard to get, especially with how many Rams are on the road. I've heard stories of guys that did something similar and are bring 40-50k a year just off ebay as a side job.

wow, thats cheaper than thought it would be. To be honest, you could probably do well selling them for $29.99 and maybe do some weekly or monthly sales for $24.99 or $19.99. Just dont price yourself too low out of the gate.

Personally, as a middle class working man, i would have no problem spending 24.99-$29.99 on the thing........ especially if its a quality piece.

I thought this "business card holder" is a slot for the removable coin holder? At least, that is what my outdoorsman has in it under the console lid. Convenient location for the cell phone though

This part is for the business card holder in the front wall of the bucket area of the Full Floor Center Console on Rams that have the 8spd Transmission and bucket seats...your Outdoorsman SOUNDS like it had the split bench seat with the fold down center console, or else it's a very new model with a center console that has the "phone mount" in the place of the 'business card holder'.

Here's a couple pics of the GENERAL part wadestar created (3D printed by my buddy, felt-lined by me) and it's mounting location:

The last pic shows the area that the "business card holder" is...it's just a rectangular cutout that otherwise is not really used.

Hope you understand...

And yes, I'm going to support Wadestar once the finished product is ready...my buddy's 3D print isn't the most "finished" product ever!

John94z,

Today I received the latest samples from the manufacturer and I must say, they look and feel amazing! I just have two very minor changes that I want them to make before they can run the final samples...and then...the manufacturing can begin. It shouldn't take that long to get the phone holders manufactured, but I will still have to get them here, packaged and shipped to Amazon so they can be sold. Out of all my research, Amazon seems to be the best platform to get the item out to the masses with efficient shipping at an affordable price.

This is the latest...I appreciate you writing!

Looking forward to getting one!

Thank you, NoveskeFan! You are awesome. I can't wait to get these out. Believe me you...it is tough for me that it is taking so long, but I am a stickler on quality and I want these to be perfect for people who take pride in their Dodge/Ram truck.

Keep in touch and I will always give you the latest on what is going on.

May I have the file for the 3D printing please? My son & his friend built a 3D printer and we want to give this a shot. I know the quality won't be great but we're tired of printing simplistic designs. I also want to toy with it and see if I can change the angle slightly so that the face of the phone "leans" more toward the driver for easier reading and to minimize glare more.

Munky,

Thank you for your interest. I certainly appreciate you wanting to toy with the design and I often thought of that, but have stayed with the current design because it lines up with my arm...which is usually resting on the console.

Now...to the meat and potatoes of your request. I am no longer sending out the file simply because it is now patent pending and I am keeping the intellectual files and such with me. If I can help you out in any other way, I am certainly willing to.

Awastatyme,

Thank you very much!! I really appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness in sharing the word. It is people like you that I did this for...and is why I am really making sure that it is a product you are going to be proud to have in your truck.

The good news is...the final samples are going to be in my hands this week and if all goes well, we will be in full production next week. We are getting closer!

Thank you again! Please keep in touch if you have any questions or interested in what the status is.

Any update on production?

Most of the production will be finished by the end of the weekend. There is a final step which includes the process that will enable the product to have a soft touch texture. I still think I am about 3 weeks out before it hits the market. But, we are getting close!!!

Thank you for your patience!
