Main reasons to coat headers are to protect them and keep them under hood temperatures down. They are usually coated with ceramic. The place that did mine coated the outside with ceramic and the inside with copper (which is the first time I had heard of doing the copper). Usually you can find a local place to do them, but some people send them out to get coated by a place like Jet-Hot. Sometimes they will come coated from the factory. Usually stainless are uncoated since they don't need the protection as much as mild steel does. What is the purpose of coating the headers? What are they coated with? Where do you take them to get coated? Do they not sell them already coated?
