Had my 14’ 2500 5.7 for just over a year having some issues

PO has bad blower motor and PCM done within 50k km(30k miles)

I got truck had radio go dead whatever replaced with a used factory

Then she started knocking under warrenty they did lifters driver side and manifold bolts

Month later knocking getting worse and they just buttoned up lifters, pushrods, manifold gasket and bolts passenger side

I didn’t think lifters were that common non MDS?

Truck sitting with 84k km (52k miles)

Powertrain warrenty for 5 more months...could extend for $$$...
Lemon? Keep it or sell it?

Kicked around going diesel. But realistically haul a 10k lb trailer half a dozen times during the summer she’s a little sluggish doing it but handles weigh well other wise.

Thanks

My 14 with 5.7 has 95k on her. I’ve had it 6 mo the with no issues. Depends if your dealer can get truck fixed and up and running or not. Did you get a car fax with it? Curious if there are ongoing issues. I’m personally looking at getting into a Cummins after first of year sometime.

Yea clean history

I’ve had diesel before. Love the power and everything about it. Except waiting for it to warm up in -30 and te fact I tow so little now. Hard to logically justify

Driving now. Still loud valve train noise on idle and slight throttle

But no where near the knock. Both side lifters done and exhaust manifold bolts

Passenger side pushrods as well

Also had them do brake and cruise control recalls while in shop

Weird thing is this truck always hit a wall into second shift. Which wide open was exactly at 80kph (50mph)

Would loss ton of power and start re revving. To the point if I had big trailer. It could barely get accelerate out of it up hill

Now all of a sudden it’s shifting at 72kph (45mph)

Awesome now. It’s instantly back in the power band and keeps constant acceleration

Not sure why but a lot happier now.

Awesome, glad to hear your rig is back up and running better than ever. Be sure to change your oil after a few hundred miles.
