Why in H-E-double hockey sticks do my neighbors wait until today when it's currently 12 degrees outside to ask me to help getting their snow blowers started. Couldn't ask me yesterday when it was 40 out, or even Thurs when it was 48. Oh well, got one going already, two to go. I told them mine's going to stay in the garage and they can do my house in return, I'll take it.

well....i think it fizzled out. here it at 10:30 and no snow/rain that was supposed to start at 7:00am.
I am pretty much straight south of you in TN we have a little bit of snow falling right now. It is supposed to change to freezing rain sleet this afternoon into tonight. I guess it all depends on which weather station/ and APP you use. I don't mind the snow, the ice is another story.

I feel for all of you as I sit here in the west central Florida. Supposed to get 18 inches where we used to live in CT.
Here it’s supposed to be 78 today, but monday night get down to upper 30s and only 50 on Tuesday. I know real world problems, going to have to wear socks with my crocs! LOL
Sounds like you're not far from where I am. I may have to pull out my long pants on Monday. :anitoof:

Is that supposed to switch between grid and generator power ?

Mine looks like this

Not quite as fancy but
A) it plain works, and
B) approved by the local building inspector so no worries about frying a line man
What I have, but of course different stuff: System ATS wired in, so all automatic.

I have a Generac whole home genny too, but it's a little bit older. It came with the house we bought. Everything is fully automatic and in perfect working condition.

Mine runs later today at 3 pm. It gets 12 minutes of weekly exercise.

This thread is a good spot for a reminder to check and/or perform maintenance on your block heater plug.

My Emery paper collection has escaped, so I used a brass brush and a fine file for the tenacious stuff.

That's good advice. I've see a lot worse than what's in your pics.

The newer ones set at 5 minutes. If I paid the $85 I could go into app and add/change but not paying that type of money for an app

App? :D

Mine was made in 2005. So no app for me.
Mobile Generac APP. App on phone or iPad pc etc. The new Gennys have built in Wi-Fi. You can monitor Genny from almost ne where. Check status. Run times. Recorded Mx. Now to do real time stuff like change settings in Genny etc that requires a subscription which is $79.99 + tax a year. I just stay with the basic do I get no alerts on Genny status starting all sorts of now time data.

we're about a 1/4" right now of fine snow, but, it looks like it's going to be steady for a while. Weather predicted maybe 4" of snow, which ain't bad.

Sunday might be a different story. I have a Champion 10,000 which is enough for the house, but, i hate the damn noise. But, i guess it's better than freezing. It can handle the whole house and even both heat pumps.

It's good to hear from every one to see how the weather is in your area.

My Generac APP called Mobile Link, will send me notifications. I had it installed 3 years ago, connected to my WiFi. I can't change setting through the APP, but I can on the control panel of the unit. I just wish the APP would allow me to put in maintenance records. I change the oil once a year and clean it out as needed.

If love to have one of those but its just not worth the investment

I have a 5800 watt generator that will run the kitchen, furnace and sump pumps just fine, Ive had it for 4 or 5 years and needed it for less then 24 during that time

No more kneeling down in the snow looking for dangling plugs, and the cover keeps the elements out when not in use

PLUS, now it's on the side I get in and out of the truck at

Gray 3M pads work great, don't bother with the no name China crappy ones.
They also work good to buff the wifes toe nails,
but she draws the line at the Milw angle grinder for some reason.
