Give us a review of it if you get the chance, esp. if any mpg gain/loss and noise difference!
Ok, I guess you can throw in any butt dyno changes :) Lower rpm, mid and upper rpm changes.
thanks!
I do not notice anything different from before... however, I am sure it is at least a minuscule more efficient, so it feels justified in my little brain!

I, personally, saw zero change in the butt dyno. My engine is bone stock though... not even a tuner. I'm not disappointed though. I'm sure it'll make more of a difference when I start adding some bolt ons.

So did anyone else have to trim that "lip" like I did?
I did not see ANY reason to trim the lip on the scoop tube...

I hope it does help it breath better I just ordered the set-up. I guess it would be comparable to putting a breath-right strip on your nose!

I feel like with how obstructed the area behind the headlight is, this really won't have much more of an impact on airflow.

Regardless, I'm excited to see what results are. If nothing else I might do it so I have an extra airbox and an excuse to try adding another tube that runs under the truck.

Installed mine last night. 2015 Ram 5.7 with 28,000 miles. AFE filter, JBA short headers, Magnaflo muffler. 60 mile mixed city/highway drive to work this am. Maybe I could feel a bit of a boost on acceleration, or it could be in my head? My first opinion is this mod is not worth it. Best way to see if this mod is worth the money is if someone put this airbox in and did a dyno run. As of now, I think I should have put the $88 towards Bilstien 5100 shocks to level my truck out.

Mine was ordered on the 5th and it’s still processing as well. I haven’t received any notice of a delay or communication about it at all other than the one that says it’s processing.

I emailed the company yesterday through their website and it shipped 2 hours later...

I would give them an email and ask what the deal is.

Lol guys this isn't a Pro Charger[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

You can see by the "P-RAT MAP BARO" pid that it hit 1.00 which means the engine is getting air equal to barometric pressure. This means the intake has virtually no measurable restrictions. The OAT was about 35* that day which means the engine is injesting air 7* above ambient temp. "MAP VAC" goes down to almost 0 almost every time the throttle is pressed confirming the P-RAT value.

The fact that there is ZERO resistance to the air flow tells me all I need to know. And The Truth Shall Set You Free!

I was thinking the same thing.

It is an OEM airbox.....

Better?

Yes.

Air compressor like abilities for less than $150.....

No.

IMHO, these same words might be said to be true of most aftermarket air filter systems. I believe most of the performance gains that are advertised to be extremely optimistic in a street driving sense.

I ordered up the parts for the OEM airbox mod 10 minutes ago.
My dealer could not get the inlet tube for 15 days so I just ordered both parts from MOPAR parts Canada.

Further proof of how we get screwed in Canada.

Inlet was $48.50 CAN
Lower box was $64.05 CAN

$112.55 in parts plus $29.14 shipping plus $7.09 gst for a total of $148.78.

Over double what Hemi395 paid. Still cheaper than an aftermarket CAI (not that I would buy one) and looks stock.

Thanks Hemi for figuring this out!

^^^Yes it does.

I try to order from the US if it can be had cheaper (with exchange rate) but then I have to factor in the outrageous cost of shipping it here. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't.

Anyone done this mod with the Legmaker Mid tube from Moe's? The cost would end up being about the same as a S & B intake (at least for those of us in the states). I like the idea of keeping the factory airbox and custom painting it once I get home from my deployment. Looking at the Legmaker Mid tube I think it would only increase airflow over the factory tube but and the custom touch I would like under the hood.
