So I've seen a few mentionings of "Blower Cams" on here and would like to find out a bit more about them. What's special about a blower cam to make it a blower cam? Which cam would be best for increased low-end power on my Procharged 5.7L and where do you by them? I usually buy parts from Summit, but didn't see anything like that on there for the 5.7L.

Thanks

Go to comp, crane, crower, etc and see what they have/recommend.

Cool, I'll have to shoot him an email then. What kinds of gains are typically seen with a blower optimized cam on a 5.7?

Gamester , have you looked into the Mahle forged drop in pistons? You don't have to re-balance the rotating assembly. Run up to 12lbs of boost! Do a blower cam for more power too!

These don't drop into the 5.7L. Modern muscle has a set of rods/pistons that can work but if you're pulling the rotating assembly then you may as well do the full deal and run the forged crank.

Talk to Jay Greene or Dave with Modern Muscle for blower cams. I'm running the Modern Muscle blower cam.

If you go to that link they are advertising for 5.7. A bit misleading if you are correct Charon.

Most definitely not for the 5.7L. The 6.1L and 6.4L have a floating wrist pin, the 5.7L has a pressed wrist pin; the only way you can swap the 5.7L piston is to replace the rod and piston together, which Modern Muscle now has a kit for and Arrington may be piggy backing off of that but there are no 'drop in' 5.7L pistons on the market.
