Anyone run this muffler as a replacement? I currently have a Spintech extreme and at first it was great.. Now the drone is killing me. Especially between 1500-1800 rpm. Thought about a flowmaster super 44 or super 50 hd but a buddy recommended the Borla. 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven’t heard the ProXS in person, on YouTube it sounds great, seems like it would have similar volume as the Magnaflow 18”.

I find reported drone varies A LOT, depending on reg cab, QC or CC then 6 speed or 8, and rear end ratio.

I had a 40 series Delta Flow and it sounded awesome and surprisingly had minimal drone, only time it was audible inside was around 55mph. Others say the drone is brutal, but that might be a result of their can size.

I had a spintech 9000 for awhile, it sounded amazing but the drone and crackling got annoying after awhile. I switched to the Pro XS and I love it. It doesn’t sound as good at idle as the spintech did, but it’s got great tone on acceleration, more of a deep growl. And it is way quieter on the highway, my wife has commented several times how much quieter the truck is cruising around

I have tried Flowmaster, then Mangaflow and now I am using Borla Pro XS. Of all three I prefer the Borla less drone a deeper sound and not too loud while cruising.

I got mine installed a couple of weeks ago on my 2017 1500. I absolutely love it. I don't have any drone issues, it is a great sounding muffler and for the money you can't go wrong. Getting 5 inch tips this week and I'm sure it's going to be even better sounding.

Thanks for the input. Spintech sounds great but my fillings keep coming loose from that drone. Lol. I know drone can be subjective but with the 8 speed and 321 years when it lugs it's hell. I'm new to the gasser side of things. Been in a Cummins for the past 10 years.

i have been looking at a Borla muffler too for my 2500 6.4l, i had a magnaflow catback on it and the drone at 1500-1800 was driving my mad...probably caused my high blood pressure.

Is it a bolt on direct fit? Or is there welding and modification necessary?

Needs to be welded up. My local shop did it for 45 bucks. Well worth it. I also just added 5" carven tips...sounds even more amazing!

I want something just a touch louder than stock. I have young kids and neighbors that I like. I work nights in the winter, and don't want to wake everyone up. Will this muffler be my answer? Thanks.

magnaflow 24"(5x9) or magnaflow 22" (5x11) is just a little louder but sound much better
