Cheaping out? They became standard equipment in 2016 or 2017 on the 4th gens at least my 2017 came with one. I’m sure the 5th gens also have them as standard equipment too.

My mistake, I was not aware they started including them on the later 4th gens. Although up until that point I would say yes they were being very cheap to not include those on such nice trucks.

Just received upgrade filter and kit today for my 2015 Laramie. Why would you form an air box for a filter and not put it in. High option truck but no cabin filter, really.

Seems like there was no ryme or reason as to what got cabin air filters. The 15 journey base model I had had one, my wife's 15 grand caravan sxt has one, my 17 express has one however the only way I found out was to physically look. Had to take old filter out and cross reference Mopar part number to get new filter cause no one had one listed.

I don't have any pictures but all you have to do is open you're bottom glove box, remove pull cord from side, then press sides together so the glove box comes out of dash or is just upside down. Then look into cash where glove box used to be and you'll see a little door, that's where you're cabin air filter is. From start to finish takes maybe 10 minutes tops to replace the filter. Hardest thing is getting the little pull cord hooked back on glove box door.

my 17 big horn came with one and I swapped it out to a K&N. figure being reusable/cleanable will be handy for this particular filter.
