It should be P or D because you never know if they mean left from drivers seat or facing the engine.

Anything with vehicles as far as locations or parts, it’s always from the drivers seat. I’ve never seen one have L and R based on standing in front.

The gaskets I got had no stamps or marking lol

sounds like ya might of gotten them mixed up i would order 2 new ones and change both.

The vehicle is always viewed from the rear when describing position, therefore the left side (drivers side) will always be the left position, whether viewed from the rear or the front.
