You can't find this exhaust cheaper anywhere, you will pay full price, unless you go with their non-stainless version I think called DBS. Purchased thru forum sponsor Nick at Got Exhaust, he may have given me free shipping. It is my understanding that Corsa Exhaust is made to order, meaning, there isn't a system sitting on the shelf waiting for you. You order and they build it. For the price it is totally worth it, a very nice system to install, zero drone, sounds great, and slightly hear MDS but its not bothersome.
Yeah the DB system uses a different type of stainless steel than the regular Sport version. Corsa doesn't specify what type of steel they use for the db system but on summitracing.com, they list it as 439 stainless which, interestingly enough, has the same corrosion resistance as 304 stainless according to this site:

https://rolledmetalproducts.com/stainless-steel-type-439/

So basically, it's almost the exact same system as the more expensive one, just not as shiny looking. The muffler is the same and for just $160 more, I could get the 4 1/2 inch black tips. I might be wrong though and that it actually is a far more inferior type of steel, like 409, that is used in the db system.

Did you pay full price for that exhaust ($1200-$1300) or were you able to find it cheaper?

Local performance shop quoted me the corsa catback gor 1400 installed, guess thats not too bad if it retails 12-1300. Just wasnt puttin that out since our exhaust is already stainless and theres no performance gain until u do headers, y pipe and high flow cats. Was only out for some sound.

Any other mods? Sounds great.

Maj, u happen to have 3.92 gears?

Correct...3.92 gears. Eventually going to do a cam, non-MDS lifters, and better springs.

Buddy of mine has a 17 rebel, loves his carven competitor. Only thing i can think is higher rpms cruising on the highway helps get out of that drone zone, side by side i think the progressive is much deeper, not as loud but deeper, maybe that causes the drone due to vibrations or something. 2012 has 6speed tranny right? So i guess the rpms are totally different on the highway. Loved my carven around town, just killed me on the highway. What color is ur truck, really like that color

RAM calls it “True Blue” and yes...mine is a 6speed. Can’t say I’ve had any issue with drone around town or on the highway.

That's what I figured. Most people say you typically don't start to see any gains until you add headers, a tune, etc.

Well, I think I might go for the carven competitor series over the corsa for two reasons, it’s significantly cheaper and I personally like the sound a little bit better. I know the corsa is pretty much guaranteed to not have any drone but most people say they don’t have any drone with the competitor exhaust either. Even if it does, I’m willing to put up with a little bit of drone for an exhaust that, in my opinion, sounds better.

Just a catback and you like stock sound in the cabin on the highway/cruising but LOUD when stepping on it = Corsa

Going with headers or don't mind a bit of drone I say Magnaflow.

I would not do headers w/ corsa, it just sounds nasty to me (raspy and such).

Just got the competitor kit installed and I couldn’t be happier! Very fast shipping, even with the back order Carven was having. Very aggressive on cold start, like it’ll scare you if you aren’t paying attention lol, but then mellows down rather quickly at idle. Best thing is that it’s very quiet in the cab, about as loud as my previous muffler. No drone at all.
