I ordered my cc after seeing and hearing about the damage that can occur from not running one. I went through Moe's because when I called them they didn't try and sell me the world but instead based on having 2015, to wait until someone has "cracked the code" for a tune.
Anyway, just arrived here at the house and I can't wait to get this puppy installed. I haven't even done an oil change yet but I would rather be on the safe side than on the sorry side and have this truck for a very long time...

Install is very easy on this, and you will be amazed at how much oil it collects.

You are dealing with one of the best and most knowledgeable vendors on this site, or any site for that matter. He uses his own stuff, will give you accurate information and will answer any question you might have regarding your truck. Other vendors could learn alot from Matt and his business model.

I'm assuming you're talking about a catch can. What is the benefit of having one? What is the danger of not having one? I often hear people speak of adding one, but have never learned why...

Who said damage can happen from not having one? That's not true!!!!!

They work but you don't have to have one.

I don't know who, that's why I'm asking. I know they catch oil but why catch it to begin with?

It takes the blow by oil that goes through the PCV and collects it, instead of it going back into the intake manifold.

They way more important in a turbo charged car rather than a N/A, but it seems hemi's have a lot of oil vapor blow by. LSx motors do too.

I be no means are saying don't get one. I have one(home made), but I don't want to see false information about not having one.

The way I look at it is, there are far more Hemi's NOT running one then there are with them.

I got one after I saw the threads and watched some videos with CC during a oil change.
For me, and for what I want to do to engine down the road, it just made sense to protect my investment.

Yes, this is very true. It's a "nice-to-have" but not a "must-to-have". There are A LOT of threads out there across many forums for all makes arguing over catch cans. I usually stay away from these catch can threads but was tricked with the "CC" in the title....i was curious...damnit. As soon as the Hemi either goes turbo or (more likely) direct injection, i would then get a catch can. As for now, I'm catchcanless.

I do too now and I was going to until he said it could damage his car if not running one.

Burning excessive amounts of oil can leave deposits on your plugs,,,

Is this an issue with the 5.7s??? Dunno, but it does seem curious that a 30,000 mile spark plug change was a part of the 5.7's 'maintenance', even though no one ever found that their plugs were at the end of their service live at 30k due to erosion/wear,,, The reasoning behind such a short change interval may remain a mystery,,,

Ran a CC on my 09 and the plugs were 'flawless' at 30k. Same CC now resides on my 14. I'm sure it doesn't catch all the oil, but it does let you know by what it does catch that it reduces the amount your plugs have to consume.

Again, a catastrophic issue? Probably not,,, At least not until we see DI and enter the realm of coking,,,

The 30K change was because they were using copper plugs.
Copper as we know don't last that long. Will they work past 30K? Of course

They use iridium in the newer rams and they tell you to change them at 100K.

So,,,,,,,,,, what is the part number for that new OEM RAM 1500 Iridium plug,,,,,,,,,

(Technically, the 'copper' plugs have nickel-alloy components at the 'business end', and Iridium plugs also have a copper center just like the 'copper' plugs, but it's one of those things like facial tissue,,, Most call it 'Kleenex',,,)
