K thanks. Does that matter either way preform wise..

I guess when I go to change diff fluid I can use any fluid and without the anti slip oz bottle

No additives needed. The additives are for clutch style limited slips. Even with the anti-spin differential‘s that are in our newer trucks you do not need that additive as they use helical worm gears.. no clutches.

If traction isn’t great you will notice 1 wheel spinning it’s life away while 1 lazily sits there cool as a cucumber waiting for something to do. The traction control will slow down the spinning tire with the brakes to make the power transfer. Instead a mechanical differential would lock the tires together and give them both power without sacrificing power to the brakes.

99.99% you won’t know. A boat ramp, rainy day, dirt roads you might wish it was there but the traction control is pretty good in these rigs.

You can get a part time locker like an arb installed, that one requires onboard air. Nobody has full time locker anymore, bad for turns on pavement. If you are in snow or ice or on any type of trail, it is a worth while investment. You can get a winch, but without lsd or a locker you will be using it a lot when you think it shouldn't be necessary. When your tire spins the power to the non spinning tire to match the power output of the spinning tire. Now, it doesn't take much to power a tire that is spinning in the air or ice, so that is the same power you get at the one tire that actually has traction. Guys think they can do a bunch of **** from the cab to correct it, you can't. Brake and rocking, whatever. The only way to correct it is have a locker, or a winch, or get the tire to stop spinning, or have a gorilla for a friend that can push.
