I've also been looking at doing the overhead console. Maplights and garage door opener are what I'm interested in.

Did you buy one of our swap harnesses and if so how did you feel about the quality?

Yeah, I bought the swap harness and 911 plug. Quality was excellent, all the connections were solid, looks like a factory job!

I have to find a place to really mount that hvac controller though, I just shoved in the rectangular space under the radio. Might just grab some double sided tape and leave it be.

Well thank you it means a lot. I ended up using 1 self tapping screw and screwed mine right under the radio.

The white one is AM / FM the mustard colored one is Sirius XM , you should have a grey one for the USB , I've only got the RA2 , I think you should have more inputs though , I thought the RA3 & RA4 had more ?
Post a picture and see what people say ...

I think that "Ricks Ram" answered my question in stating that it is the Canadian version. I really appreciate the help. It's currently on E-Bay. I'm trying to retract my bid now.
Thank you very much!

Thank you! I saw that and the picture of the back is what brought my attention to the fact the one I bid on only had the 2 farad connectors. Still hoping to find it for less than $629. I missed one on E-bay about 3 weeks ago that went for $475.
Thanks again,

Check Car-Part.com. they have a,lot listed around 400.00 make sure it is correct before you buy it call them

I wanna give a shout out to getupkid for helping with the harness. Also, cptwing for the directions he posted for those of us with the 4 speed fans. Install was a breeze and i now everything up and running like it came from the factory. :)

I also have the oem bezel with volume control for sale now if anyone's interested.

To everyone that has done the upgrade...need a little advice. I can't decide what to do. I've been planning on doing the upgrade to the RA4 (I've already stepped up from the RA1 to the RA2). I already have a Kenwood DNN-991HD radio. This is Kenwood's flagship radio. I had it in my 2011 Ram until I got the 2015 about a month ago. I can't decide on just keeping my Kenwood or staying with the factory look and going with the RA4.
Anyone that has had an aftermarket radio to compare with the RA4? The Kenwood is a fully loaded head unit...wi-fi, HD radio, dual camera, DVD player, iPod/iphone control, & more.
I'd have to purchase a new install kit for the radio and a new wire harness since it changed since the 2011. I'm going to add the steering wheel control thanks to this websites DIY I now know it can be done for a reasonable price. But then I'd also have to purchase the steering wheel adaptor for the Kenwood.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you!!

I have no experience with the Kenwood , ( sounds great )but I'd stay OEM and go with the RA4AN 8.4"
That's what I plan on doing once the RA2 5.0 Doesn't do it for me anymore.

5.0 to 8.4 Nav Yesterday

Thanks to the info in this thread and others, I installed my RA4N and upgraded A/C module this week.

Install went pretty smooth considering I am not comfortable with auto electronics.......mechanics ok, electronics NOT! From the VIN# with the radio I know it came from a 3.0 Laramie in Michigan. Works great. The BT voice with phone is much better than the 5.0. Radio seems to sound better as well.

Thanks for all the info!!

Looks nice. It looks like it is available for a firmware update by the color of your icons.....My unit worked much better after I did the update. I highly recommend it.

Hey Guys, I have been following this thread for quite awhile. I have a 2013 SLT with the 4 speed fan. I already installed an 8.4 with the OEM Bezel. I want to finish the project with the MTC bezel. I have bought these parts:
Control Module # 68105017AE
Resistor # 68048901AA
Control Bezel # 1UJ96DX9AF
CuylerTechs Harness.

Am I missing anything?

Everything looks plug n play with the harness, but where do I splice in the lead wire coming out of the Harness? It is only about 18" long ? Any help will be appreciated.

@Jayo2, post up some pictures of your install. I have the same truck with 4 speed fan and would be interested to see the extra pictures. Thanks.

Where can I buy the harness for a 7 speed fan? I've pm'd curly but haven't gotten an answer. Harness-connections.us has been down for days.
