I almost bought that 2016 last week but went with the 2014 instead cause i was unsure everything would work ok. Interested to hear what you think. Got my 14 cheap enough i can resell it easy and go with a 16 if its worth it.

So quick update on my cheap mission lol, so i ended up buying the volume control for my steering wheel and instead of installing it i did some testing with it and figured out that the steering volume connects via can bus, so all i did was tap the volume button with the white and blue can bus ihs cable going to the stereo and was able to move volume. Know i made a knob out of the volume buttons and works as expected, so total 47 for volume buttons and around 12 bucks in cable and i just drilled into my bezel and done. So total cost abt 160 for the conversion

I will start a new thread once I have a chance to try everything out so let's try not to make this thread explode discussing this...

Well I got it unlocked and spent a few minutes testing it out. It does have the option to organize your tabs at the bottom which is neat. I've posted a picture of this. I have also posted a list of the advertised new features.

Everything seems to work flawless with the exception of one thing! Of course, there is always something! The new feature added a Siri feature where you can hold down the steering wheel Voice recognition button and Siri comes on over the speakers. The problem I'm having is that this feature works great but afterwards no music work, no radio no xm no Bluetooth! But the phone works, navigation controls works but no music. I'll keep toying with it but for now, that's the only issue I'm having.

With the new drag and drop menu bar, FCA US vehicle owners will be able to personalize their touchscreen controls for one-button access to features and services, including SiriusXM Travel Link, heated or cooled seats, and Yelp Search.

Through a voice button on the vehicles' steering wheel, Siri Eyes Free allows drivers to speak natural language voice commands to send text messages, play music, set reminders, place phone calls and access turn-by-turn directions. Drivers can push and hold the voice recognition button on the steering wheel until the Siri screen appears on the touchscreen and they can hear the audible tones. Siri Eyes Free is compatible with an Apple iPhone 4s and above.

Vehicle owners who prefer not to be interrupted with phone calls or text messages while driving can choose to turn on the new Do Not Disturb and Reply with Text Message feature. The Do Not Disturb icon, which is located on the Uconnect system’s phone screen, will route all incoming mobile calls to voicemail and suppress text messages. The vehicle owner can also choose to send a default or customized response once a call or text message is received.

The SiriusXM feature starts songs from the beginning when switching between their favorite pre-set satellite radio channels, ensuring that drivers and passengers do not miss a beat of the songs they want to hear.

For 2016, Uconnect gets new software and voice recognition algorithms that improve voice recognition accuracy, calculation of navigation routes, search and playing of songs and applications engagement. Integration of a new noise cancellation software helps to increase the quality and clarity of handsfree phone calls.

Did you by chance take any pictures of your install? Might be something some of the members might like to give a shot that don't want to do the factory bezel upgrade....sure would beat the 350.00 I paid for my OEM auto bezel....that I only used for 4 months!

I agree on the doing it right the first time and not compromising with the dual zone bezel. I felt good about the purchase becuase they had listed the part number in the description and comments and it matched the part number that Cuyler used.

I got SCHRAM'ed. Part was listed as 1UJ96, received 1UJ97. Going to go ahead and install it so I can use it over the weekend, and I'll make them send me another one on Monday.

Anyone familiar with the RA4/8.4 that only has 2 antenna outputs on the back? A white & a curry colored one? It looks like all the other ones I've seen have up to four farad connectors on the back?
Also, do you have to change the bezel out? I got one picture of someone that kept the original bezel from the RA1. All the other ones show that a bezel change is a must.
Thank you for any help.

The RA4 with two plugs on the back is a VP4 CA this is NOT the one you want it stands for Canada and doesn't have all of the features like real time traffic. The one you want is a VP4NA which wich stands for North America it will have the extra plugs on the back. You can use your stock bezel if you trim it to fit but you will have to install the audio controls on the back of your steering wheel to operate the volume. It is better to upgrade to the factory 8.4 bezel. You will.have a lot more features. Just skim through this thread it will explain most of it.

The white one is AM / FM the mustard colored one is Sirius XM , you should have a grey one for the USB , I've only got the RA2 , I think you should have more inputs though , I thought the RA3 & RA4 had more ?
Post a picture and see what people say ...

Sorry new to the forums. I just recently purchased 2013 Ram Express and was looking to update the radio and add illuminated visors and possibly an overhead console. I read somewhere, but now cant find it, someone had created a harness for the illuminated mirrors and overhead console. Was wondering if that person had parts to make one or knew where to get the parts to do so. Thanks in advance, and sorry if it's something already discussed. Just can't find the thread I read it on.

Welcome to the Forum! :favorites13: My Company The Harness connection will have an overhead console harness out within the next week or so. 90% of the parts can only be obtained in large quantities (100pcs+) so they are hard to come by. Will you be adding the Overhead console with garage door opener or compass?

WOW, that was easy. About 40 minutes start to finish. Still waiting on the unlock code, but all seems to be working well besides that. The only hard part was waiting for all the parts to come in.

I've also been looking at doing the overhead console. Maplights and garage door opener are what I'm interested in.

Darn..I'll see if I can cancel my eBay bid or hope I get outbid. Just wasn't wanting to spend more than $400 on it.
Thank you so much!

I'm looking looking to add the console with garage door opener. Would the illuminating mirrors link to that harness or would it be seperate?
