I had a roommate once that was set on building a cheap turbo kit for his civic with ebay parts. It did make stupid power but it lasted 2 weeks and fell apart. He rebuilt it with more ebay parts. Lasted 1 month and fell apart again and took the motor out with it this time.

I've read those articles before and it's impressive the numbers some of those motors make however there is no long term or reliability testing done. It's strictly a numbers thing. It's very easy to make big numbers for a few dyno runs just to say you did it but if you want one to last or be a daily driver or use it at the track then a "cheap" turbo setup is not what you want.

I saw that last year and did quite a bit of research. To me, a turbo doesnt seem worth it. Its the same general power as a supercharger but a little more harmful to the engine. Prochargers seem to be popular with the hemi. It also happens to be what i want to do to mine
