One good thing for yer son: He is getting a New Motor. At least Toyota stepped up a lil, FCA has had Cam/Lifter issues for years, good luck. And GM getting sued/hit by NHTSA over 877K motors (5.3/6.2). Yeah all the Big 3 having issues and imported. Kinda makes you want to keep what U have if it is doing OK.

Think Ford's Coyote 5.0 may be the best (V8) motor right now, (but their Trannys )(10 speed) are absolute garbage. And their interiors have been stepped up a lil, but not hold a candle to RAM's. SO which way does a consumer go now? GM with motors grenading, Ford, RAM with POS I6 Hurrycane? Seems like no QC no matter which way you look. All IMHO.

I love the Silverado rear bumper so much that I am looking into how I can fit it on my 2022 RAM 1500

Well, i hope you did not buy a New Tundra.

I purchased a new 2025 Tundra and returned it the next day.

Tough choice between a Silverado and RAM but i went with a low mile 2022 RAM 1500 non-etorque Hemi.

Time will tell as it will be compared to my 2013, 2016 and 2018 Tundras

So far all is good and the Hemi and Trans are smooth as butter.

Nope. Stayed clear of the the new tundra engine. Stayed clear of the new ram engine. Old inline sixes are great but the twin turbos seem to be too complicated in the new ram and tundra.

What I got does have a newer engine design that took more torture testing in the design phase and was the only new design that came back for more.

I'm enjoying what it is. And it does remind me of the inline sixes I drive for work that don't get retired until they hit a million miles. Funny that one inline six at work is a Cat that had twin turbos.

I'm not here for debates of "circle the problem" or "crossed it out". My 2017 ram was my favorite.

I have bought 8 vehicles from them in 10 years! My paint started peeling off my front bumper on my bought brand new 2022 Warlock at about 1 year of owning it. Never had time to bring it in working so much! I retired in December. I bring it in to fix the heated steering wheel that also never worked properly now that’s out of warranty now had to pay for a new steering wheel and clock spring. I just get a call from dealership saying the bumper is not covered because it’s not corrosion. I’m like no kidding! It was a bad prep job before it was painted at factory! The customer service is not there anymore!

Makes no sense why the paint wasn’t covered under your 3/36 portion of warranty. You may need to have a civil conversation as a long term client with your dealership; depending on the outcome, elevate your concerns to the corporate folks, in writing. Just a rhetorical question but, if you had a driveline issue, wouldn’t you have brought it in for warranty service regardless of being busy at work? Same applies to steering wheel, recalls, etc. You could get a ride from someone if vehicle needs to be on sidelines overnight or so. Just my two cents. You have a nice truck. Get the cosmetics and heated wheel handled, it’s essentially at 39k miles a new ride. Mine is at appx 145k (2016) and lots of folks still admire it. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned.

I have a 2006 Charger and 2014 Ram. Both have rust under the paint ( bubbles) and that sucks.
The charger has it on the rear wheel wells bad I under stand its old. The truck has it on the front hood (bubbles on leading edge of the hood) driver side front fender about center of the fender that is nuts. It also has it over the rear wheels. ( treated with rush treatment inside and out then por15 over it.) The front bumper started bubbling up a bout 2 years after I got it. I don't really care about the bumper wanted to get a different one any ways but the front body panels come on. I sand them down and put rust treatment on them then paint por15 over that. my paint is black gold so it kinda blends but not. I still like RAM and Dodge Mopar got into my blood.

If you're done with Dodge and Ram because of problems you're having you might as well save yourself time and money by being done with all motor vehicles. You can't predict what's going to happen in the future based on what's happening today. But you can mitigate the risk by waiting a few years to see what's going on when a new engine or transmission design comes out. And there's always the KISS principle. Stay away from all the bells and whistles to the extent you feel comfortable with. Less is more.

They claim they do not make a bumper (or anything else) for a 2024 Ram 2500 (which I thought would be a 4th gen…but even if a 5th gen… they don’t admit to making anything to fit.) ??

Yea, that's a bummer.

But since the best looking Ram bumper ever, from AEV, is only made for the 2500/3500 HD trucks, I don't feel quite as bad for you.


Of course, the price of the AEV HD bumper makes it a pretty significant investment.

I dropped the truck off last Monday at 8am for the appointment. They called Wednesday and told me my steering wheel and clock spring were defective. I would need a new one. After it was in for same issue in October. I then was told it was a loose connection and they fixed it.

Maybe if you mentioned that you had to eat the clockspring when you had previously brought it in for the same issue, and was given the story of "fixed a loose connection" (that obviously wasn't it).

You never know, maybe they'll take care of the paint issue in good faith.

I hope you get a good outcome.

Whenever you can afford to buy a new vehicle that costs over $55,000 dollars and you get denied a warranty and given the middle finger from a car company that you know should be covered. My '07 Tundra was like holding a frozen iron pipe while wearing nitrile gloves for half the winter months.

Try the ventilated as well. Ford actually does better in this regard, but Ram does a pretty decent job. Test drove a Raptor and a Tremor and those actually chill quite a bit.

Any paint issues have to be caught basically at the dealership at the time of delivery. Once it leaves the dealership, you're basically on your own. If you read ANY manufacturers warranty regarding paint and corrosion, they're only guarantee is that the body will not have holes in it due to corrosion for xx number of years/miles. Your paint may be flaking off, but as long as there aren't any holes due to rust, the warranty won't cover it. The bumper to bumper 3/36 warranty might cover paint defects, but beyond that, if it's not rusting through, you're out of luck.

Only time I ever saw factory fix paint is when it peeled off on it's own, sometimes in sheets. Then they will fix it.

Otherwise, too many variables that cause paint problems due to owner / environment causes.

i am also done and will never buy another vehicle made by ram, dodge or stelantis or who the hell ever is owner. i have a 2021 rebel that was an $80,000 truck. it started leaking water inside the truck at a good rain. it comes around the rear glass. dealer and manufacturer says no to warranty coverage even though i bought the extended bumper to bumper coverage. what a joke. i paid a glass company to pull and reseal and install. it worked for a time and started again. the tech showed me the problem being the way the make the seal which is not a solid oval seal but a multi piece with gaps. the tech put lots of sealant to try and permanently fix it. during the period it did fix the third brake light started leaking. you cannot buy a new seal. you have to purchase the whole unit for $500. I said screw you. i am done with this joke of a company. when i get rid of this truck it will be a never again
