Any idea on the install orientation of the driveshaft, or does it matter ?

Ok, smaller diameter to front of truck and larger diameter to differential. Thanks!

Nice, did you do a crossmember notch, and if so, where did you get it? :)

No crossmember notch, I need to load the bed of the truck with weights and see what my clearance is.

are the single cabs the only ones that have the possible driveshaft failures?

Not sure but I will be changing it on my crew cab soon. I don’t trust the 2 peice shaft.

I have not heard of the driveshaft failing on the crew cab/ extended cab. I ran a stock driveshaft on a crew cab with around 500 rwhp without any issues. The crew cab driveshaft was 1 piece carbon steel though.

Only the regular cab shortbox "8speed" 2 wheel drive trucks.Regular cab shortbox 8speed 4X4's are good, and every other cab/box configuration seem to be okay. The regular cab shortbox 5 and 6 speed trucks are good to go,it's only if you have the 8 speed that you'll want to look into a better driveshaft.3.21 geared trucks aren't as prone to driveshaft failure as the 3.92 geared trucks are,the taller 3.21 gearing, keeps the driveshaft rpm down in comparision the the 3.92 geared trucks driveshaft rpm.Not saying you can't destroy a regular cab shortboxes driveshaft even with 3.21 gearing, but you'll be going a hell'va lot faster before it lets go,lol
