He listened to someone in this forum that told him how to reinstall the original...May I ask what happened , that you need a new driveshaft ?
Nice, did you do a crossmember notch, and if so, where did you get it?![]()
397 stroker and procharger, I hear the stock driveshaft loves to blow apart under high horsepower conditions, lol. Just got new driveshaft installed, about a 30 minute job.

are the single cabs the only ones that have the possible driveshaft failures?
I presume the air line is for ad on air ride?

Ive got a crewcab, 4x4, 8 speed, 3.92sOnly the regular cab shortbox "8speed" 2 wheel drive trucks.Regular cab shortbox 8speed 4X4's are good, and every other cab/box configuration seem to be okay. The regular cab shortbox 5 and 6 speed trucks are good to go,it's only if you have the 8 speed that you'll want to look into a better driveshaft.3.21 geared trucks aren't as prone to driveshaft failure as the 3.92 geared trucks are,the taller 3.21 gearing, keeps the driveshaft rpm down in comparision the the 3.92 geared trucks driveshaft rpm.Not saying you can't destroy a regular cab shortboxes driveshaft even with 3.21 gearing, but you'll be going a hell'va lot faster before it lets go,lol
