I've been debating on dumping the mechanical fan and putting in a e-fan. What are some pros and cons of doing so?

I know some guys claim slightly better gas milage, and maybe a couple hp.. Anything else? I figure there has to be some sort of downside to this..

i love mine. can't say I got any HP out of it, but I did see a 1 mpg jump. love that.

Nice mod, pretty cheap too!

only downside is since it has more parts then just fan blades and a clutch there is more to go wrong. Not comparable but I got 2.7 mpg gain on my cummins I then lost it all and more with lift, tires, and bumpers...... I also noticed a gain in hp/tq but that is also not comparable since mine is a cummins.

I say do it!

oh also by adding a switch to it you can have more control over your efan.

This is a good mod. Its not going to give neck snapping performance gains, but you should see a slight bump in mileage, and throttle response will improve when you arent having to spin that big clutch fan.

I can get the Mopar fan, but have not added them to the site yet. I need to check pricing on these tomorrow.

I've been debating on doing this mod, it will probably wait until I get superchips so I can reprogram the fan temp

No Cons Here, except explaining to Gas attendants to mind there business and pump the Gas cause the Truck is shut off and the fan is still running. combined with the heat extraction from the srt-10 hood I have never overheated, even lately at 38 degrees Celcious which is pretty hot for Canada.

38 sounds cold.......lol :)

I love hearing mine roar when the truck is off. Even makes me feel cooler. I can say that every truck I own will be getting efans for sure!

Mine are a bit different then what most you guys are looking at since I got the aftermarket flex-a-lite fans and not the OEM V6 fan.

If you buy the mopar fan, it's a direct swap plug and play. Not sure here but I know there is a DIY thread on DT
