After installing the Eibach Pro lift on my 2017 Rebel with Zone UCAs, I got it aligned and thought all was good. Well, the steering feels quite floaty especially at highway speeds and tonight I noticed the tires rub on uca at full lock. I have stock Rebel wheels and stock tires (Toyo Open Country). Are these both indicative of a caster alignment issue or are they separate? The whole reason I went with this kit was to avoid these issues.

What size wheel/tire combo?
Where is it rubbing?
How tall is the lift?

Highly doubt caster is the issue.

Tires are Toyo Open Country A/T III in 285/70 17 (stock size)

They are rubbing in the rear at full lock either direction.

Lift is the Eibach Pro Lift set at 3" up front which is actually about 2 inches of lift for the rebel.

Its hard to get a good angle but here you can see where they hit in the back of the UCA.

For reference this is what I found for the stock wheels if it matters.

Stock Rebel Wheel Offset Details:
Wheel Size: 17x8
Offset: +18mm
Backspacing: 5.209 inches (132.4mm)
Bolt Pattern: 5x139.7mm (5x5.5 inch)

285 isn't a crazy wide tire, and +18 isn't a ton of offset, but between the two that is why you are rubbing on your control arm. You could but an 18" lift on it, but that won't fix your control arm rub.

Your tires are 32", so there's no way you are rubbing on the fender liner, you must just be talking about the control arm.

If you look at the 2" kit from zone with their control arms, says it'll clear 33s with 17x9 and 5" of backspacing. I believe that is your issue. Might need to add a 1/4" spacer to get the clearance you need.
Yes, I know their kit isn't what you have, but you're adding roughly 2" of lift, using those same control arms.

By the math, wouldn't my tires be 32.7 x 11.2, and my rims are 17x8 with 5.2" backspacing. That would mean a net delta still of .5 extra clearance (i.e. 1.3" minus the .2 backspacing difference divided by 2) compared to what they recommend

Might sound stupid, but did you verify you installed the control arms on the correct side? They are side specific and will throw your caster way out of whack, which could be causing the floating feel you get, especially at higher speeds. You would have a lot more negative caster. Now I'm curious what your alignment sheet looks like.

Yes,they actually won't fit if on the wrong side as they hit the upper strut mount. My wife didn't get the alignment sheet last time, but I'm having her take the truck in again next week to have them double check everything and to get the the sheet this time.

I got down and started looking and I am seeing what may be causing the steering to feel like $hit. When I replaced all the parts, I checked all 6 lower control arm bushing and all were in perfect shape. After the alignment was done, the front right now looks like this. I am gonna order new LCAs and I am curious to see if they ripped the bushing due to a seized bolt or not. I can't prove they did it, so no need to fight with them, but I will find a new shop to do the alignment next time. I am also leaning towards 1.25" spacers, but waiting till the rest of the work is done to see if I actually need em. I do have the Mopar flares, so the wheels would be about perfect with those to fit flush.1000000921.jpg

When I did the 1” spacers on my truck, had to cut the studs, they didn’t line up with my wheels.
When I got my current setup, eliminating the spacers, had to replace studs.
The front was less work, was having hubs & bearings done, but the for rear had to remove the shafts & beat out the cut studs to put in the new.
All the work was done at Quick_Shifter’s shop, of course he made it look easy.

Did you get the angle corrected upper control arms? I did the air ride delete on my 2018 rebel with the eibach. 3inch lift set up with their control arms I have Toyo at 3 35x11.50x17 on stock ram rebel rims with absolutely no rubbing
I know on my kit it says if I upgraded to heavy duty, jba control arms, the tires would rub

Those zone upper control arms look pretty beefy. You're probably gonna have to use a spacer. Don't go too big that could make it worse as far as hitting somewhere else and your floaty problem is probably bad bushings on the lowers. I had to change some bushings that were worn also to bring it within an alignment specs

After new control arms and hub bearings replaced in the next week or so, I will be getting a new alignment and then will assess spacers. I am looking at 1.25-1.5 inches max and only because I have the Mopar flares so a little wider could be good. I would prefer 6-10mm, but we'll see.
