I wondering if anyone has had an issue with engine surges or Rpm spikes?
My 2014 1500 has been doing this for sometime now. I really dont see the rpms physically go up/ dn. But I can hear it. Truck has approx. 153,000.
I have had the air induction cleaning less than yr. Ago. I dont have a chk engine light or any other things going on. Help!

So you don’t see the tachometer on the dash move at all when the engine is surging? When does the engine surge? At idle, certain speeds, or only when in Park??

Might need to run a fuel system cleaner through it. Its possible it's a dirty/clogged injector

Elevated 2013...I only see it move sometimes. But it's minimal like 1 or 2 hundred rpms. Is all. I hear mainly like just cruising at 55 or up but I do hear ot at lower speeds.

I would start with McBroom’s suggestion first and try running a bottle of Seafoam in your next tank of gas and maybe go up a level of gas at the gas station for 1 tank and see if that helps. Maybe also clean your throttle body really good with some carb cleaner. See what happens from there since it’s such a small variation/surge.

Yea I use seafoam on a regular basis. Time before last I used a high milage fuel sys. Cleaner. Plus the throttle body has been cleaned by dealer.
I have had a few low speed shudders. Which sounds like something with torque converter. Not sure if tranny would cause the up/ dn revs I'm experiencing due to shudder at times.

If it's a 65RFE trans probably the cause.
Maybe time for new filter/fluid.

Problems on my 2011 ram 1500. RPMs spiking at idle, shuddering, and then the trans finally blew. My fluid was already burnt in 2018. But I had been using lucus transmission additive all Tia time since 2018 and it finally blew. Anyways these symptoms probably have something to do with TC and should be checked before things get Into the 1000’s to fix, like me!

Might want to try the IAC and the TPS. I had a 2002 Durango with a 5.9 and that is what was causing mine. I know different types of veh but the basics are the same.

I recently had a customer demonstrate his low speed surge to me. Replaced the throttle body even though all data looked good. The only questionable thing I saw was TPS voltage spike which looked like a self test on the graph. Also check for purge solenoid or intake manifold leaks
