Fox acoustics single 10. I wanted to conserve storage space under the seat. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the quality. This thing is solid. It was packed really well. Popcorn is all over the place. I was pissed at my neighbors when driving up only to realize the trail led to my door lol. Can't wait to get home from work to install it. No assembly required

So upset. Sub didn't come with screws. Really? I went to two hardware stores and they don't sell socket head screws. I guess I have to wait another day. It's killing me :-(

Put some polyfill in the box - you can get it at Walmart in the craft section - makes a huge difference.

I can't remember if they pre drill those boxes but before you put screws in drill then hand tighten down. I know it takes a bit more time to do this but you will never strip out a screw hole or split mdf doing it that way.

I'll try it with both. I think it's within range, .9 to 1.3 of space is what the type r needs. have some polyfill from a previous box that I made. Not sure if it makes a difference but the stuff that I bought at a car audio shop felt different and was suppose to work better.

I definitely will. Ill use some wax on the screws as well. It helps it cut through without binding. A little trick that I learned when I worked at a machine shop. I've read that many use t nuts. I wanted to try this but it feels like the bed coating that they use is in the inside as well. I don't think that it will pierce the material. I may have to settle with plain old Phillip heads, yuk

Can I ask where you got that particular box? Is it made to be on the drivers rear or passengers?
Thanks

I bought it from fox acoustics through their website. It's the drivers side model. It works out better for me because my son sits on the opposite side. It also doesn't cover the cup holders like the larger passenger side model. It takes 2-3 weeks for delivery, despite the in stock ready to ship in 3 days statement on the site. I think the more popular 2 sub enclosures take longer. For me it was worth the wait.

What does installation entail? Is the wiring run from the other sub or elsewhere?

Just add spacers to the seat. It takes minutes if you know the size of the head. 18mm. What's strange to me is that there's a 1 to 1.5 inch hole. They say run the wire through there. I would think that the hole would do something to the airflow but we'll see

Nope not in this one. I called the manufacturer and they told me most guys run it through the hole. By design? Full of crap? Maybe. Since the hole is there, I'd have to freehand the hole to put a terminal. Without it it would be pain in the rear to remove it. I'll most likely so when we camp

I was hoping for a passenger model that allowed me to put a larger/better sub in and get back some of the storage the large o.e. takes up. Thanks!

They have a 12" single passenger. Like I said larger means your covering the cup holder = spilled drinks and more visibility.

Hoping for a quick reply. I'm installing the speaker. Should I go 2 ohms 800 watts or 4ohm 500watts. I'm not blasting it. My thought is that 2ohms would be easier on the amp. Advice needed.

Depends on the amp but most run just fine at 2 and 4 ohms without any worry of killing early in its life. It's always nice to have some overhead what is the coil configuration on the sub? is it a dual 2ohm coil or dual 4ohm coil this will make a difference in what you can wire down too.
