Just saw some Flowtech shorties on Summits website and they are very reasonably priced. Does anyone have any experience with these?

..or better yet, JBA's new Long Tubes

1-7/8" primaries, Silver Ceramic Coated for just $738
...That's HALF the price of the equivalent Stainless Works LT's (with coating)

Matt will be shipping mine within a week :happy160:
..so I can finally get rid of my shorties.

"This header kit comes with reducers so you can hook them up to the factory Y-pipe or we will have a couple different options on Y-Pipes in the near future. Parts are already in stock at Moe's Performance or your favorite retailer."

But why bolt high performance headers to factory exhaust?

I wasted $650 on JBA shorties two years ago
Sure they bolted right up to my stock cats and even though I put a Maggy Y-pipe on,
I barely gained 8 whp (dyno tested) because the stock cats were still the biggest restriction.

What kind of gains are long tubes bringing? And, yeah, I was just after the simplicity of the shorties. Anything is an upgrade over those damn log style manifolds. What's the best replacement cat?

Longtubes can yield 20+hp and I run Magnaflows High Flow SPUN cats on my Camaro with longtubes.

I will probably buy these cats again for the truck when I do longtubes. But 1st im going to wait and see what y pipes JBA comes out with.

With a tuner (in an area that doesn't require inspection for smog equipment)
you can have the rear o2 sensors turned off and remove the cats completely
...net results with proper tuning can easily be well over 30 WHP.
