Hi Guys. First time posting on this site. I am having issues with my FOB. My truck is a 2014 Ram 1500 Sport Crew 4x4 with push button start. I have changed out both fob batteries with no luck. The truck has a hard time connecting to the fob. A lot of times, I get a message on the instrument panel saying FOB not detected. I have found out when this happens, you have to hold the fob right up against the push START button so the vehicle will start. Do I need to program the fob to the truck since I changed out the battery in the fob? If so, where can I find the step by step procedure to do this. Also, where is the receiver for the fob located? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks....

Welcome.

Over the years of forum reading, I've read about this issue several times. Since holding the FOB against the push-to-start button works, this indicates that the FOB and the rest of the passive entry and start system are working.

Have you seen a "Low Key FOB battery" warning on the DIC?
When the "No FOB Detected" message is displayed, where is the FOB?
Are the replacement batteries name-brand and installed correctly?
Did you check the replacement battery's voltage?
Do the other FOB functions work as expected (door lock, unlock)?
Is the vehicle battery healthy?

This issue is solved nine times out of ten with a quality battery from Energizer or Duracell. I've used Amazon no-named FOB batteries with results that are equal to what you are seeing.
