Thanks for that extra info.
With something like this, something typically purchased in relatively small quantities, cost is not much of a concern for me.

Once the better product can be determined, that is what I am most likely to purchase.

Redline also seems to be hard to find in the U.S. as well. Online or nothing.
That's the biggest reason i went with the CRC product,it's easy to get in Canada. I haven't ran a boroscope in the cylinders since i tried it,so i can't comment on whether it's cleaning up the piston tops or not.

I've ran 2 bottles of this through my 300,and it seems to be a pretty decent product. It's easy to get in Canada,as Canadian Tire carries it,was the biggest reason i tried it.Whether it's as good as Redlines cleaner i don't know,as i've never tried Redlines fuel system cleaner,as it's a bit harder to find up here.

I was :evillol: when I looked at the SDS to see that it contains Diesel Fuel No 2, 15-40 %

If you talking about this one I have used it for many years in every one of my wife's many vehicles (and my diesels) along with the Lucas Ethanol fuel conditioner with stabilizers... As for increase in mpg my wife would report a 1-1.5 mpg increase ( 5.25 oz per 20 gallons of gas) I did so without telling her, when I used it regularly in my 2006 diesel I bought it by the gallon, I'm using the last gallon of it in my wife's 2021 Toyota highlander.

PEA (polyehteramine) AKA Techron works very well. Available at Wally World. That's your fuel additive which cleans fuel pump, injectors and contributes to reducing carbon deposits in the cylinders. I'd add a bottle per whatever the instructions say, and I'd do it for several tanks of gas. The clean up almost never happens from just one application. But, I've seen it do wonders!
Next, fuggitabout ethanol free fuel. That engine/ fuel management system was designed for ethanol enhanced fuel (up to 10 percent or so).

READ your owner's manual. Put the fuel octane rated gas that they recommend! Any more is like adding sugar to your soda pop. Waste of money.

I personally use either Chevron, Shell, or Exxon. I choose to stay FAR away from Wally world/ Sam's Costco fuels. My customers who use those "lesser" fuels keep my busy! I always advise not to jump over a dollar to save a nickel when it comes to fuel choices. The Few dollars saved can cost thousands later.

During our recent over 5 dollar a gallon events, Wally World stores in my area reduced gas prices by 2 dollars a gallon. I remember seeing lines similar to the lines I saw during gas rationing in 1972.... lines which stretched out of sight.

I use Top Tier fuel for starters. My manual states that I can use 87 but they recommend 89. Many of the stations near me do not have the 89, they have 87 or 91. I use 87 due to the huge price difference here. Would adding Techron help with performance and mpg's? If you can give me your thoughts it would be appreciated.

U sure you got a 6.1 Hemi in that 2024, whateva Ram or Dodge product it be, lol. Wat your Avatar shows. If U indeed got a 2024, and run top tier fuel you should not need a fuel additive, just saying. All IMHO.

OK, lol, U may wanna change info in yer Avatar and add some info on yer vehicle, helps ppl to know to help U out. U running a 2021, U run top tier, U not need additive,. U can put in if U want, but really, not need. Put in once in a while if it gives U that happy feeling. Run some high grade Shell, or Sunoco in there, U be fine. Lots run seafoam once in a while to clean things out. I personally do not like that, but lots of PPL to include PPL a lot more knowledgeable than me do. U saw the comment from ShermanBird, he has been a mechanic for years and has his own place, so do as what makes U happy.

Well, since I do not want to get into the "Octane" conversation, gonna leave that alone.

Techron is no longer PEA - scroll up. Only Red Line PL-1 and CRC use PEA anymore. It's expensive.

Remember that Techron was trademarked by Chevron, a huge corporation, who knows what their direction is anymore.

In today's news, ConocoPhillips, which used to be separate corporations, want to buy Marathon Oil. Pretty soon we'll be back to the Standard Oil Trust and we'll get what they tell us is good for us.

And............(dum, dum, tiss) there is no such thing as uniform 89 octane gas. It's a blend of 87 and 91. I use 91 top tier. Where top tier is rare, such as up here in the hinterlands, I carry a measure bottle of PEA with me and spike 1 ounce per 15 gallons gas (calculated dosage from mfg ratios). Instant "Top Tier" gas!

I believe most manuals recommend 89 octane but 87 is acceptable, using top tier is a good decision in my opinion.
thank you. Yes where i am several of the stations are "top tier" but they don't carry the 89. it's 87 or 91/93 also, because the manual advises i can use 87 I was wondering if adding the additive would be beneficial.
