Nozzle issue, not a Ram issue. Slow the fill rate.
I beg to differ it’s not an issue with the Ram. But it does seem like we have people with two different issues. Some have trouble keeping the nozzle on and other can’t remove the damn thing from their truck once they’re done filling up lol.

I actually just had the nozzle tip get stuck in my filler tube the other day as well.

Had to yank the damn thing out to hard to remove it from the truck that on the way out it scuffed the bedside because I couldn’t get the thing out with any amount of reasonable pressure.

And in all the years I’ve been driving not one other car gave me this issue.

I still haven't had mine changed, but am getting better at finessing the nozzle in. Still a BAD design though.

It's funny. I had an issue getting it to fill once the week after I bought the truck. I've been to the same station since (not the same pump handle though I don't think) Never have had an issue since. I do employ the lift the nozzle up as you are putting it in to get it in deeper.

Now that I think about it, its also a successful technique for sex!

I just talked to the local dealership and he told me that he has has customers with both problems with their RAM. He said some people complain about filling, others have complained about the nozzle getting stuck - he even said one person told him the whole upper tube dislodged when trying to remove the fuel nozzle.

I filled up in this truck for the past 1.5 years, and I have had the nozzle stuck about a half dozen times, and I've had it shut off on me a few times. Lately, I've had three nozzles at different stations click off every buck or two... it didn't matter how fast or slow I was filling up, and since it's over $4/gallon here, it doesn't fill up that quickly anyway.

I found two nozzles that work great at my local ARCO and try to use those. When out of town I always cringe when I have to fill up. Just can NOT push it in too far or you'll be putting on a show for everyone trying to yank the damn thing back out. I have had a few times when it just will not fill, and I drive off to another station.

Someone said it's not a Ram issue, have to disagree. It's IS a Ram issue and they should do a full recall on it. Never had this problem on any other truck or car.

I just talked to the service department again. He said that he's had so many complaints that he knows nothing will fix it at this point because he said the problem is that all of the gas stations are changing their nozzles and the RAM's filler neck won't adapt to it. So, yes, it IS a RAM issue, but FCA has not done anything about it despite knowing that it's a huge problem.

Since I only fill up at stations like Shell, 76, Chevron, Mobil... they're all changing their nozzles. He did suggest ARCO, saying that some people are having success there because ARCO is behind the game on replacing the nozzles. I really don't like ARCO, but if I have to I guess I have to until FCA fixes this problem. Oddly, I have no problem filling up my bike by holding the boot back, however, that won't work with the RAM for some reason.

Sorry but that's wrong. The updated filler tube they put in fixed my "getting stuck" issue...I do however still have the constant clicking off issue still from time to time

what do you mean "that's wrong"? I didn't talk to the service department? They didn't tell me they have had this problem? They didn't tell me that gas stations are replacing nozzles? He didn't tell me that FCA is aware but they don't have a fix? No, it's NOT WRONG, because that's exactly what he told me.

No, I don't have anger issues, you're the third person to tell me I'm wrong. Getting kinda tired of it because I've only stated what I've been told by the local dealer, if you don't agree with what he told me, call him yourself.

The thing is, all three of you have said "you're wrong" but not one of you have actually offered a solution.

Here’s a solution for the part:

Purchase the part here, it’s in stock and ready to ship

Thanks, unfortunately, there's another problem other than getting stuck and it seems to have something to do with the evap system...from what has been told to me by a couple of people. Before I spend money on something that the dealer told me won't work, I want to see what FCA says. The dealers I called specifically stated that the superceded number doesn't fix the fill problem. I'm currently in contact with FCA and they've escalated the case # to make sure that there is a solution for both the nozzle getting stuck and this current issue of not being able to put more than a half-gallon at a time before the nozzle clicks off.

Everything in life is a tradeoff. You don't have the filler nozzle boots to struggle with occasionally, but you have high heat, high humidity, and giant bugs

Pick your poison...

It must suck having your gas tax increasing again, then getting to the pumps and you cant even get any in the tank LOL

I just pass the gas prices on to my customers. Sure is a beautiful, mild, non-humid day here at the beach though. And not a bug in sight...

When you have the time to really get under the hood and "look" at our Ram fuel necks and then look at Chevy and Ford. Not a huge design difference. The problem is in fact these damn Ca politically correct socialist/communist designed fuel nozzles. And there are different designs. Yes it is true. Some of them have damaged the seal lip on some vehicles. Also, some vehicles came out with badly rolled nozzles necks. Ram got a short run of those in Saltillio. Our Chevron station kept their previous version nozzles. When the law got modified, he put them back on and took off the big paddle, do nothing nozzles that were sometimes getting stuck in some vehicles. Just stay tuned.
As more AOC politicians get into Washington,,,, "all States will benefit from clean green emission safe nozzles, like they have in Ca" The leader in gas tax's and elite BS. 89 Oct today $4.08. Getting out.
