I have 35's on my ram but I lost 4-5 mpg. It has 3.55 in it now. What gear ratio should I go with to get my gas mileage back close to stock?

Are you lifted with those 35's, if so your mileage is what it is. A good gear to get those tires moving better is just going to make it worse. Every gear you go up t0 will just increase your rpm's, meaning you burn more gas. Did you run your mileage by gps or odometer, maybe it isn't that bad because perhaps your odometer is off with the big tires.

The only thing that will get your Mpg back is to put the stock tires back on.

Welcome to the wonderful world of oversized tires!

4.10s will get RPMs back up closer to stock and it'll take quite a bit of load off the engine, the Hemis do not like low RPM lugging around, that hurts MPG more than the 1MPG you might think you've lost turning a slightly higher RPM.

Swapping to lower gears WILL improve your MPG. It won't go all the way to stock but you WILL improve.
Anyone who says otherwise probably hasn't done it

Not only that, make sure you get those performance mods on your truck (intake, tune, exhaust and headers if wanted). More power = less effort to move your heavy truck.

You're taking your engine out of its power band with taller tires making it rev lower.
Lower RPM DOESNT mean BETTER MPG

I suggest 4.10's as well if you don't plan on goin any bigger than 35's. Will get your RPM's back closer to stock and help bring the MPG's back

On a serious note...what seems to be the best rpm range for these trucks to get the best mpg? I've been driving mine in the lower rpms thinking I was helping my mpg. I'd certainly love to see it go up, even 1-2mpg would be helpful. I know driving a truck isn't about economy, but I don't see any reason why we (I) can't still try to maximize it as much as possible.

The weight of the 35's and more aggressive tire is a large factor too I am sure I think mine jumped up like 15 lbs each or something crazy. Since I went 4.56 I really notice the loss of mpg over 65 or 70 other than that is not bad at all.
