We made the decision and wrote a deposit check on Saturday.
Monday, find out they are having a problem ordering our bench seat in the front.
Wednesday, we are told that the system will not let them order the front bench seat with the Ram Box. (???)
While I was thinking, and thinking, and thinking about this situation, and doing more exploring online, and looking at the catalog some more -- I realized that I have NEVER seen an Outdoorsman with full body color paint. I have seen the black bottoms, and I have seen chrome bumpers, but I have never seen what we (ALL, including the salesman) *thought* "monotone" meant.
I realized that the "Monotone Outdoorsman" says: body-color fender flares, bright front bumper, bright rear bumper.
Our sales guy was trying to order a Metallic Steel "monotone outdoorsman" ... thinking that it was going to come in full body color like you can get on the Express or the Sport.
Holy crap!
When I talked to him about it Wednesday afternoon, he was adamant that I was wrong.
When my husband talked to him about it again today (Thursday afternoon), he is still convinced that WE don't know what we are talking about. "Well, it's different when you go into the system to actually order it....."
Ummmm, NO. No, it isn't!
I have done some more searching, and found some other threads tonight that support what I discovered *completely on my own*. If that order would have gone through on Monday ... We'd have waited 6-12 weeks for this truck, and it would have shown up with shiny chrome bumpers!
---------
I am not sure what we are going to do now.
I have one sales guy telling me that you cannot order a bench right now at all. That dealership has a nice 2014 still in stock (with the bench), and no chrome.
I have another sales guy telling me that he can get a bench, no problem, but just not with the Ram Box (which makes no damn sense). (This is the same sales guy who is still convinced that monotone outdoorsman means ALL one color).
I'm about to post a "wanted" ad here, to pay one of you knowledgable dudes to just come here and take care of this for me.
