Not to pleased with the old 1500 right now. Took it to the drag strip last year went a 15.2 with varam, 93 tune, muffler delete. This year put some long tube stainless works headers on, no cats, custom tune slowed down to a 15.8. Cooled the truck pretty good, added 5 percent fuel went a 15.6. Truck feels laggy on the bottom and I thought it was my imagination.

Towed my dads challenger on my trailer couple weeks ago and said it didn't feel as strong and going to the drag strip proved that.

Then to finish the day I saw a f150 coming up on my driver side as we were starting up a hill. I start to get in it and hes still coming so I know hes in it.. I floor it and slowly watch him go by. Part that really burns me is he had a small fishing boat on the back. Non eco boost just a newer f150.

Not pleased and wasted about 1300 bucks.

only thing i can say is that either your exhaust doesnt have enough back pressure(1-7/8 with no cats and 3" pipe.) or your tune isnt setup right. the 1-7/8 headers providess less torque than smaller ones but when u go WOT they are better.

are you having traction issues? because thats what i have at the track and pulling things. Boat almost pulled me into the water because my tires just spin and never hook up, only thing that saved me was the fact that it wasnt very wet outside.

i find that my tires loose traction on gear shifts and off the line that cause me to run about .5 seconds slower than i use too.

Also, check your headers for leaks as that will hurt your vehicle a good bit.

I tried it with traction on and off, off and plus 5 percent and shifting it by hand gained 2 tenths. Headers are tight. Just feels like you said like it hurt it more then helped it

I'd say you are modding for top end power.
Do you have a high stall converter?
What gears do you have?

I assume the 4" Lift and 315s were done to make the truck faster too..?

I agree I wish it had 3.92s. Kinda bummed that's all thought the headers would have made a bigger improvement

Get 4.10s with a 2500 or 3000 TC stall and it will definitely help.

I miss my cummins trucks. Either going to have to live with this or go back to diesel. Honestly I have been more then pleased with this half ton until headers.

Something doesn't seem right. Have you logged your truck since the headers to make sure you're not getting any knock?

on the move..

Perhaps you should try putting a restriction in your exhaust.

1 7/8" headers, no cats and no mufflers is going to kill low end.
Low end is what you need to get a beast (lifted crew cab truck) going.

I feel like not enough backpressure is killing you. I have a cutout welded in after my y-pipe, and i feel like the truck pulls harder with it closed as the exhaust runs through my muffler and resonator.

x2 on the exhaust restriction. id find something to increase the exhaust pressure.

think of it like a water hose, too big and it doesnt flow fast enough, too small and it flows too slow

or get a TC lol

Reduce the pipe size down to 2-1/2".

Are you running in Tow Haul mode? Because my truck breaks the tires loose at 30 in tow haul mod.
