Just want to throw this out there for anyone with a 94-98 having problems with the check valve for their A/C vents.
For those who aren't aware there is a check valve on the vacuum lines under the hood which leads into the cab to control the ac vents. This valve failing is a very common issue and the OEM part was discontinued a long time ago. There was a different one sold by dealers that was actually for PT Cruisers and Neons but even that was discontinued over a decade ago. There are cheap aftermarket valves all over the place that barely work, but I could never find a permanent solution that lasted more than a few months at best...until now.
One of the technicians at the shop I work at suggested a Ford part of all things. Late model Ford trucks have vacuum actuated hubs that use a check valve to keep the hubs unlocked and it is perfect for our trucks. So far I have had zero issues and I have put at least 5 or 6 replacement valves in my truck.
The Motorcraft part number is YG-360 and it is $7 on Amazon. Hope this helps someone!!
