I've got a set of BBK shorties on my 13 Ram
I developed a bad exhaust leak on the drivers side, I figured it was a bad gasket. I took everything off, and found that the header has cracked almost all the way around the collector at the weld.
I cleaned it up, took off the coating around the crack and welded it back with my mig. New gaskets, lots of high temp silicone, put it back on and it was great for about 3 months. Now the exhaust leak is back, I checked my bolts, I'm assuming the weld either broke or a new crack has formed.

Is there a trick to welding the ceramic coated headers?
After I take this off again to fix, I want to be done with it.

Thanks

That sucks man... I guess you get what you pay for. I would try to upgrade and call them a loss...JBA, ARH, or stainless works long tubes.

I fought with welding a crack in headers once. Yeah, just once. It came back, and the headers went in the dumpster. Thin wall tubing.
Try drilling a hole at each end of the crack before welding. That may stop it. Unfortunately, there is stress on the tube coming from somewhere that is causing the crack.
