I would check, it seems maybe the flanges aren't flat.
If you want to use the OEM gasket, just cut the gasket to match the primary size.

Yep the old racers thing, port match intake & exhaust gaskets/intake/header/head with die grinder/dremel.

Called Lokar this morning, they're 4-6 weeks out on custom orders at the moment :(.

At least the local dealer has a spare OEM... Going to pick it up tonight, but was really hoping for a lokar to make things much easier.

Since I wasn't able to get the lower bolt out, I'll have to cut the lower bracket on the new tube. Anyone think I'll have any issues not using the lower bracket for the new tube? I'm thinking not as long as I bolt it uptop and the old one was such a pain to pull out even with clearance.

As long as you have the tube fully seated, you'll be fine. I had cut the bracket on mine as well and didn't have any issues with it only bolted up top.
Good luck with the rest of the install. It can be a pain in the ass, but definitely worth it in the end!

You could put a downward facing notch in the lower bracket so it'll slide back over the bolt. If you have the headers already tightened down, you'll have a ***** of a time getting the tube back in the hole in the block. You might have to loosen the header so you have some wiggle room to line the dipstick up with the hole. You might get lucky though,i got my fingers crossed for ya,as installing some brands of headers on these trucks can make a guy learn some new words, and drink a pile of beer, lol

Damn your smart, that's a great idea lol. I made sure to not put the headers on yet. May be too much of a pain getting my hand in there for the bolt once the headers are in, but I'll give it a go.

If the end fell into the pan,try draining the oil ,if it doesn't fall out with the draining oil,try fishing around with a small extendable magnet, before dropping the pan.

Man with all the trouble you have had trying to install those headers I think we need to start a "Go fund me page" so you can have it towed to a muffler shop and have them finish it. Really sorry you're having so much trouble.

I can still see it stuck in there. Think I should knock it through and try fishing it out/draining the oil? IDK how the hell to pull it out with it stuck in there still

I'd try punching it into the pan,as you'll never be able to pull it back out through the hole. my buddy had his do the same, break the end off,and he got lucky by punching it into the pan,and draining the oil,his fell right out into the drain pan,but I also think he might of had horseshoes stuck up his rear, lol

I'll give that a go, stay tuned. I may visit the equestrian farm down the road first to get some horse shoes, ha!

Damn. I think I’m going to look into a shop doing my headers when the time comes so I don’t have to deal with any of that. Plus by then my header bolts will be seized in there and I don’t want to have to fight that

Yeah I guess you experienced my worst fear when I did mine. Sorry you have to go tru all this. Maybe it's still in there and a small magnet can get it out or a piece of solid copper wire with a hook at the end?

Don't have a magnet small enough, nor does AutoZone... Just finished pulling all the pan bolts... But it looks like there is another brace that's also bolted into the bell housing? I'm a bit weary on unbolting that... Time to consult the googles.
