Heater Core, No Heat, Coolant Mis-Match..??

Several threads recently have quesitioned “why no heat”…and the heater core “flush” being recommended… Sometimes casting-sand is blamed…..Although it MAY be something entirely different…
For example, …Yet Another thread or two have addressed “which coolant / anti-freeze” to use…. and the discussion revolved around OAT vs HOAT coollants…

I know some people have a “love-hate” relationship with Daves Auto ….but he Does have some interesting, Useful, and Correct examples of poor maintenance and how to correct the problem:

I have used liquid fire drain cleaner for a long time with great success. I had tried clr and other brands but they didn’t work. My 2018 ram heater works better now than it did when I first bought the truck.

Unless you flush the block too you will be doing this again, that means using a air-water flush gun into the connections and watching crud come out the lower hose. the actual source of the problem......
