Hey everyone,

so you might remember back I posted a thread about an engine vibration where the dealer stated it was normal after having my truck for a week...

Well the noise has gotten much worse. So I have a 2016 ram 1500 v6 4x4 with 24k miles.

On cold starts (after not being ran for 12 or so hours not neccesarily the temperature outside) the vehicle makes a vibration/ humming sound that specifically comes from the front right of the vehicle. Before the noise would stop after 5 or so miles once the vehicle got "warm" and then I would never hear the noise again while driving.

So now I just drove my truck this weekend and noticed the vibration after driving well over 2 hours. The noise still comes from the front right of the vehicle. I also noticed that when I left off the gas and was coasting to make a turn that the noise seemed louder. I drove it again the next day and heard the noise. I had slowed down and was driving around town. I left off the gas to come to a stop sign and was around 1500-2000 rpms and the noise was the loudest. When I would tap the gas to accelerate the noise would get louder with acceleration then decrease when I left off gas. So I have no idea what to do now.

Also something funky that happened this weekend. I pulled into a parking lot, put it in "park" and turned the truck off but I couldn't get the key out. It was like the key was stuck and just didn't want to come out. I started truck up, put it in drive and then put it back in park, shut it off, and it came out just fine. So I have no idea what that was all about.

I am calling my dealer today. Any advice? This is getting frustrating.

Download a video with audio, if you are having a vibration at idle it is internal most likely. It shouldn't be the cam, there are sensors that would let you know if it was that. If your at idle and standing in front of the truck, any noise? If it was "normal", you would think they would be able to mention what it was. Dealers blow.

Ive never been able to get a video. Im going to try and grab one this week if i can. I have not noticed it outside of the cab but with how sporatic it is its kind of hard.

I spoke to the dealers manager today. Im dropping the truck off on monday and they are going to have one of there senior service personell drive the vehicle and see what he thinks and what he can find. I pretty much told him i dont want it back until they figure it out cause ive been around many many vehicles and this is not "normal"
this vehicle originally was traded in after 14k miles and i almost wonder if the guy before me traded it in because of this. Honestly if they dont find anything im going to trade it in.
