Does the flicker issue only happen with the low beams? Are the fogs susceptible to this too? I'm assuming not.. But wanted to verify.

Also, 55w okay for headlights? 35w for fogs?

I have zero flicker with my low's and I have the harness. The fogs were a little wonky upon installation and I'm still debating getting a harness for them, but for now they're ok. I have 55W low beams and fogs, both 5000K and no issues whatsoever.

Did you get the error eliminators too?

I plan on buying from DDM. Don't see a reason to buy a Ram-specific kit from someone else for $150+ when i can get a DDM kit for $45, and they have FAQ's on working with Ram's.. They claim buying a raptor series "low beam only" kit will nearly avoid most issues.

So i'll get 55w with harness for both lows and fogs.. and call it a day, and see what happens..

Good luck with DDM on your '13.......

I get quite a few of DDM's customers each week grabbing a harness, or a full kit.....when theirs didn't work right.

Yes, I can't compete with a $45 kit.....but, I don't need to be the cheapest product out there - just the best.

I certainly didn't mean any disrespect, and i wasn't speaking about your product to be honest. There are quite a few Ram-specific kits out there and i was speaking generally, not about any one specific vendor.

I'd rather support someone like you.. An active forum supporter, private/family owned business over an importer like DDM.. however, budget is the budget and its what i have to work with.. If i had extra cash, Retro would be where i go without doubt or hesitation..

Its all good, I didn't take it that way - just have a lot of disrespect for the "product" DDM pushes out the door.... ;)

Totally understand that 100%. I fight import business every day in my job as well. And i standby and support my customers when the product fails or falls apart..

JJ, I have the 2013 Laramie so I have the projector lenses. I know you make a better retro fit lens but will the 55watt HIDs fit behind the factory lenses? Also, will it create too much heat for them? ...or will I be okay?

Our 50W kit fits just fine. No issues with heat either. :guile-1:

HID Autovision

I have a 2013 Express with the HID lights I got from HID autovision. I have had no problems with mine. How I did mine was I had a ballast for each headlight (low beam) and a ballast for each fog light. Used 55w for low beam and the 35w for the fog lights in the 8k color range. Haven't experienced any issues as of yet and have had these for a few months now.

Sounds great. Did you get harnesses or relays?

I got the complete kit that comes with the harness and relays, however I did not use any of them. The system for these trucks as I am sure everyone knows is they should use the canbus ballast. I just wired the lights straight to the 55w canbus ballast on both headlights using a 55w canbus ballast for each one. Mounted ballast to top of headlight assembly and wired everything together and so far no issues, and they work and look great.

The canbus kit I got from HID Autovision was a plug and play system.

My usual round of dumb questions - When using keyless entry/exit do the HID's come on like the stocks.

Yes mine do. However what happens when using the 55w you will slowly see the lights become brighter and brighter instead of like the stock lights would be immediate brightness. I do have the bullydog tuner for mine and I have it set to do that when using keyless entry and with the bullydog you can change that option

I won't be running a programmer for awhile. So it works still? I'm planning on the Retro kits here in a couple weeks.

Yes they will still work as they are. Just know that if you decide to use a 55w ballast it may take a few seconds before the lights reach their optimal brightness. I see that in mine when I use the keyless entry. I press the key fob and see my lights turn on and slowly start getting brighter and brighter. Usually around 5 - 7 seconds the lights are as bright as they will be.

Just to keep my finger on the competition there.....

The kit on their site starts at $150. If I'm looking at the correct kit?

55W is $50 more

1 year warranty

Sounds like harness and stuff isn't needed, but if you want them, its $10-$35.

Sorry, didn't realize you were selling the hid kits as well. Yeah you are probably right, I know it cost more for the canbus and more for additional warranty along with the harnesses. I bought all of that but didn't use the wiring harness. The kit came with regualr 55w ballast along with 55w canbus ballast too. The fog lights do not have to be run with a canbus only the headlights. Polarity is different from driver side to passenger side on the fog lights. I ordered seperate (2) 35w canbus ballast for the fog lights, but ran the 55w ballast at first on the fog lights with no issues with heating. Now I am running both headlights with a 55w canbus ballast for each headlight and a 35w canbus ballast for each fog light. Really couldn't tell much difference between the 55w and 35w on the fog lights.
