i have tried a few times to follow the programming of the home link and have had no luck has anyone else had a problem ? i can clear the old frequency fine . but when i go to learn from my door opener it just does not take.

so i didn't see a home link light all it does is show a message on the dash that if i hold 1 and 3 that it is clearing then if i do the hand held opener from my wifes car and the 1 home link button it says programming but nothing happens

On mine, I had to use the original remote that came with my opener. The newer remote I used (newer Genie remote replacement from Home Depot), would not give home link the right signal, even though it appeared to.

I put the battery in my original remote, and did the exact same sequence and it worked perfectly. So now I keep the original remote in a safe place with the battery removed (so it wont go bad from a leaky battery). They do not sell original the remote anymore.

For me, I got the garage door to work, but couldn’t get the community gate to work. Sucks
